The Droid TV thread

All of the channels.

Can you perhaps shed some light on the actual amount of space available for application installation on this device? I've heard that the way it has been portioned there is only 1Gb space available to install new apps from Playstore etc.

I have a modified 582 with 16 GB NAND... will check for you and relay the results. The value will be less on the normal 582 so i will half it to assist as soon as im home.

Dont confuse the ram and the NAND. Ram is processing and NAND is storage.
Unmodified i think its 8 GB on 582.

No, I do understand the difference, but as I said I've heard that of the 8Gb NAND, only 1 Gb is actual storage space that is available, the rest is for all default apps etc. My concern is that I cannot only have 1gb of space available, when my self and my 6yo starts downloading games and apps from Playstor.

The Android OS and preinstalled applications should take up about 4.6 GB of total space. I did a factory reset on my 16 GB unit to make sure. My box shows 12 GB free and it's a 16 GB NAND. NAND on this unit should be the same as the MXIII so I reckon a 8 GB NAND would put you on about 4 GB free more or less ... You can also use Apps2SD in Google play to move apps and games to SD. Or remove preinstalled apps on your own. Who needs Skype, Facebook and the like on Android ... My opinion anyway It can also come down to how its partitioned, I remember earlier Android boxes had issues where 1 GB was available but this was due to the fact that the NAND acted as both memory and storage. My old Jynxbox was setup this way ... Installed too many apps and the box suffered performance wise.

Hope this helps.

Anybody having a problem with streaming in Kodi 14.1 Helix where you pause or simply activate the mouse on the air remote and the picture freezes but the audio continues? If so, any workarounds for the MX3 2gb running 112k4? Going to upgrade to Kodi 14.2 release candidate to see if that helps.

A few other guys reported the same thing, please let me know if 14.2 resolves it?

Thanks
