The Droid TV thread

Hi Iceman

Don't have any PMs from you. Remind which remote you bought?

It was last month i think. Keep on losing connection, so no idea what is happening. Im having to press a button, to get the light to go to blue to show its connected. Its no biggie, maybe i should just buy another remote, but just thought i would let you guys know. :)

The Rii I have does two things which sounds similar. If the battery is low, the blue light will start flashing, and it will struggle with connection. But normally it goes into a standby mode of sorts. Pressing a button wakes it then.

the battery is defo not low.. I never knew that to be honest. Is there a reason why it has to go into standby mode?

The remote should sleep after +-20 seconds of inactivity. How many times do you have to press a button before it reacts, and how far away from the USB receiver are you when pressing a button?

EDIT - I see everyone confirmed it's probably a sleep / power down issue

I will check again tonight, but im pretty sure its not one click of the button, but its been a while since using it. Im probably a few feet away from the receiver. Place is quite small. Will let you know tonight via pm

@skeptic_SA and SykomantiS

Please see email response from MyGate below. Would you happen to know the time your issue occurred?

Good day AV Supply support

Would you be so kind as to provide the date and time of said transactions? Timeouts can occur for numerous reasons, local network issues and Bank Switches experiencing downtime amongst them. If I have a specific instance to investigate I will be able to provide more accurate feedback.

Kind regards,

If I had to guess, 15 minutes or so before the EFT. I didn't really keep an eye on the time, sorry.
Chrome history shows visits to the mygate site between 12:46 and 12:53, if that helps.

Hey guys, im kinda new to the whole andriod TV box jazz.

I recently received a Beelink i68. My main goal would be to be able to run DSTV Now on it
Having issues with DSTV Now app, it seems to have issues with the playback. It looks like it wants to start playing and displays the first frame and it just stops there. Was wondering if it could be due to DRM that the app uses not being compatible - However i receive no error with regards to that.

Would appreciate if someone could perhaps point me in right direction with regards to the beelink i68 or worst case scenario a box that would actually support the dstv now app

thanks!!!

DSTV now does not work on most android 5 tv boxes .

The mxq-4k running android 4.4 does support dstv now ,but not showmax.

Ok, so is this a android 5 issue? is it possible to load a different rom on the device with a 4.4?

When doing a search for mxq-4k i find quite a few of them but most are android 5.1 too

Not sure what problem is with 5.0 ,there was member on here who did the testing for dstv now ,i think its 1 or 2 pages back.

Most of them have 4.4 last time i checked as its entry level device. I see most of them listed android 5 now ,maybe they upgraded them. My last batch still had 4.4 on.

Not sure if there is 4.4 rom for your tv box ,I am not that clued up with roms.

Something that I've picked up on Exodus during the last week - an episode would stream without hickup or stutter for 5 - 10 minutes, then pause (no "buffering" indicated), screen turns black and I'm returned to the stream selection screen. I'll pick a stream again and resume from where I left off just to watch another 5 - 10 minutes for the process to repeat itself. Has anyone else experienced this? It's just strange because there doesn't seem to be a problem with the connection - it's almost like the cache getting reduced, dumped and filled up again.

I haven't manually updated or installed anything in the last week that I can identify, which might be causing this problem.
