The Droid TV thread

Show me a free VPN (and not one with 500mb free etc.). I dare you, I double dare you.

ffs, and I quote: "Not a vpn, but Real Debrid is great for Exodus and SALTS, even Phoenix is hopping on the band-wagon with it."

This service is nothing but a glorified torrent site you have to pay for...

No it's not, this is much better. You don't have to wait for the downloads to finish or buy hard drives. This is more akin to a seedbox...

The proverbial empty drum.

A wise old man told me to always pay for a good service and never feed the trolls. I'm trying my hardest on both accounts.

Mmm, been scanning a bunch of different threads and forums and a definitive answer isn't forthcoming.

Basically it comes down to picking one device that can run Netflix, Plex, Showmax and the Supersport app. Options are Shield, Neo U1 and mygica.

All 3 devices can apparently run all of the above but it may depend on running older versions of the apps or living with bugs or simply not working at all. And of course it changes depending on who you ask.

Is there anything that just works?

Don't forget poor man's Nvidia Shield the MiBox. To answer your question the shield and MiBox will just work with most apps showmax hd Netflix ,4K YouTube.Only app that needs older version is DSTV Now. That's on DSTV

The service is R35 a month and gives you way better quality links than what Exodus currently offers. Im happy to pay the price of two coffees in return for hd streams.

Also best way to watch 4K movies in Phoenix.

Why do people still pay for Netflix when they can stream using Kodi and Movie apks for free? I've always wondered that.

For my wife and kid. Easier, smoother build in voice search with Android TV or FireTV remote. It just works, no dead links. Also because I want to support these services and get my content legally. I simply don't want to pirate because there is a superior product priced correctly for what you get.

I subscribe to Netflix and Amazon Instant

Because it's the right thing to do..Lol...It's cheap. Has 4K content. Great original content . Great servers and for many alot of kids content. Kids content is hard to find in hd even with kodi. Just try finding Miles from Tomorrowland or hd Dora links. Interface is easy and eye pleasing

Lol I agree with it been quite reasonable priced but the content isn't the best on there as you're limited, not everyone can play 4K content, kids content isn't that hard to find in Kodi, Well I assume but you could be right there. I do also agree that the servers are great but not a good selection of movies

Content will grow as they new in SA and DSTV has rights to alot of content. Kids movies in hd easy to find in kodi but trust the popular kids series links get hunted down. I literally pay DSTV R99 for Disney Jr to avoid headache of no links found. Some people account share so get Netflix and Showmax for cost of one sub. It's easy and lazy people love lazy plus Netflix Originals and autoplay next episode seal the deal

Sorry correction DSTV Now app is now working perfectly on the U1. Supersport app still a bit rubbish but you don't need it if you have the DSTV one.
On which firmware is the U1 and what version dstv now?

You've posted 12 times since 2008 and most of your queries are about hardware models and the version of dstv now that works with them... Do you perhaps work for a certain satellite TV provider?

I wish then I wouldn't had to ask these questions. I have an amazon fire tv gen1 which I have dstv now working on and recently bought a U1. So was just curious as I know it didnt work on the U1 and would save me alot of time not trying different versions.
