I see Telkom is bringing out its own Android box, but I see it's running 7.0 (Nougat). Looks pretty good, as you can install DSTV Now which means anyone with DSTV access details can watch sport on their TV

Thoughts?

I will be picking up one for sure to test it out. Just cannot see any place with a ETA or where to buy it from.

I can tell you that it is not available yet, and will only be available when they launch the Summer promotions in September. I will be getting one as well. I have waiting long for a device like this that I can use to watch Sport

Yeah that is also what I'm keen on testing out. Iv got 2 Tvs in the house left that need smart devices the rest all run MiBoxes so if it doesn't work out well I'll just use it on a small TV in a lonely corner...

Are you sure it is Android 7 and not the AndroidTV one? :) See a quote i replied with in the News thread about the box.

So I got my Mi Box (and A2 Lite remote - thanks to this thread for the advice on that!) set up and installed and everything, but something odd is happening.

I have an HDD connected to my router, acting as a UPnP media server. I can pick it up just fine from my Android phone, in both VLC and Kodi. But the Mi Box (connected to the same Wifi network and everything) just doesn't see the UPnP servers at all. Internet services like Youtube work just fine, so the box is definitely connected.

Any thoughts why that might be?

Is this within Kodi ?

Just a question how do you guys deal with apps that require touch controls on the TV Boxes. My problem is with DStv now, I can get to catch up stuff with the remote (fireTV) but I can't browse through live channels

I use the casting feature on the DSTV Now iOS application. Works fantastic!

With the remote? Only to maximise I need to invoke the mouse.

With the Mibox you can use the standard remote and a wireless mouse.

If you have the stick you need to get a Bluetooth mouse. If you have the box you can use a USB/wireless mouse but preferably a wireless air mouse remote.
