@silkman: Do you possibly have an old desktop PC that you could use to test?
I don't have an old pc -just the 2 I currently use.
What should I test?

If you have time of course, I dont mind - internet is dead as disco this end with latency issues and "IOS updates" ... lol.
Hi JvanD
What's the procedure for updating your Box, do you need to flash Uboot or can you just use the .zip file?
Thanks
would this not follow the same as a Droid handset? in terms of updating the Box staright from the net, or do you have do load this updates off a drive?
oh right, that makes sense mate. i would have thought though, that the Droid boxes would be alot more open for development than say phones. on our side, in the phone world while Android is very much open source, its still controlled by the manufacturers. It should but MyGica might try and prevent custom ROM attempts
I can flash via USB, SD card. The zip file will work.Hi JvanD

Yup

I know how to remove hardware checks for older Mygica devices, the M3 etc.
On the M8 i might have to do some digging.
My issue wasn't date/time - although the error message alluded to that. It was DNS.
Tried the DNS address provided by Yotch and all was cool.
Only issue I have is that when you go onto Wifi then you can't specify your DNS manually on the MX3. Has to be set on the router.
I see OpenELEC 4.2.1 with XBMC 13.2 Gotham (Final) for MX 2 became available a few days ago![]()
See above
Oh, ok, weird, as I can set 2 dns addresses (primary and secondary) on my 2 boxes, M8 and Mx2 as listed on my signature below.
If you set you're wifi already, select the option to "forget network" then you select it again, then where it asks for password(don't put it in yet), there is a option to tick "advanced options" , then by default DHCP is selected. Deselect it and use "Static". Now you will be able to add two(2) Dns addresses, but via Ethernet, you can only select one(1) Dns address.
This is even possible via my Samsung Galaxy Note2
Hope it helps
