The Droid TV thread

@mcclod: I'm trying SB now and it does seem to be struggling a bit tonight. I am currently experiencing a lot of interruptions on the medium quality setting. Are you running the new 1.2 firmware currently?

I was watching the latest episode of Mistresses about an hour ago on www.usdrama.net and I was very impressed with the quality of the streaming. Give this a try in the meantime - just use the standard web browser that comes installed on the DroidTV to open the site and choose something to stream. If there is any stuttering just let it buffer for a few minutes. This site has around 600+ of the latest TV series in HD like GoT, TBBT, HIMYM etc.

Apologies for taking so long to reply, I am running 1.2 stable. Usdrama does work through the browser, very nice thanks.

Showbox stubbornly does not want to work, it does not even try to buffer, just gives an error message, "server error"

Installed 1.2.2 yesterday, from 1.1.6.

Very happy. 1080p clear to see - from the forked xbmc version.

Just need to figure out how to restore my old xbmc data to the new version.

OK, so I have DroidTV and WD MyCloud on same network and want to connect up via upnp, it detects the device , I add the MOVIE folder which contains Action, Comedy etc folders.
It doesn't give me the normal option to scan folders and add fanart?
If I add the folder via smb share then the Scraper option pops up?

I have tried sliding the left menu and selecting Update Library but nothing happens.

EDit:
Currently, due to technical limitations (dynamic file paths) UPnP file sources can't be scanned into the local library. However, since many UPnP servers can provide metadata as well as the files themselves, then this may not be an issue.

Hi Hemps, I have the exact same setup. in xbmc, Add via Nfs (networks file system)

I have no issue, they are both connected via cable though.

Mine as well both onto a Gigabit Router with wifi N.

I tried to setup WD TV live but interface is so clunky compared to xbmc.

Edit: Tried adding nfs share, it detects the MyClouds IP, then detects /nfs folder BUT there no shares showing up.

Hi rodga,

The MXIII has replaced the MX :)

The RAND is still weak against the Dollar so it might be a while until we have a new special
thats understandable
Just dont have another special for another month or so ;)

What are the differences between the M8 and MxIII??

1GB versus 2GB RAM and no Bluetooth

Our shipment is arriving this morning. I'll confirm later on today if 3rd party bluetooth adapters work on the MXIII

Sorry again, what's that iptv version about? Looks almost the same as the mx...

What are you guys think of the "Cloudgate" android box? It been getting a lot of advertising lately.

It isn't aimed/marketed as a media player/smart tv replacement but why would one buy it over the M8 for example?

The M8 looks like a far better buy. The from what could find the "Cloudgate" has a Rockchip RK3188 (Quad core 1.6GHz), Mali-400MP4 GPU. VS Amlogic S802 Quad core 2GHz, Octa-core Mali-450MP GPU on the M8...

Your thoughts?

That's the exact same spec as our Q7, which is R800 cheaper
