107k4 might present a better experience, most of the sites I use is blocked at work so I wont be able to check for us until tonight if it does indeed better the Netflix issue. This device is really and I mean ... really new. The advancements made on the S802 took some time but got addressed without waiting too long, but I'm sure well manage to fix this behavior on the S805 MXQ. I sent one of the factory reps a message so I'm awaiting his response.
Where can I get the change logs for 105k4, 106k4, 107k4 ?
The factory always fixes these issues for us once we report them. The spoofing to a Nexus should be on par and not cause an issue - I will do some tests tonight and report back![]()
if you going to stream via a wireless connection, you might encounter these issues anyway. what Router do you have?@JvanD, thank you so much for your effort. I have now tested again, Netflix (but nothing else) still buffers like mad even after changing to 24hz. BUT, it does not buffer at all if I disable the wireless and only use Ethernet. Like you said the 'jitters' does go away after a couple of minutes, I think it might be each time the player changes up/down on quality? This made me think my wireless performance might not be up to par, but everything else works fine on the wireless? Did another YouTube test at 720p with no issues and ran icemans appy for about an hour with no issue (one wireless). Will test using my 3G wireless as soon as I have time and see if it produces the same results. I think there might be something different in the way the droid box handles the wireless connection vs wired. I will report back after some more testing.
@Yotch, got Hulu working now as well, swapped jasheed_sa's DNS for another one you gave me. I also enabled network time and set it to central america, don't know if it matters. Somehow I got to watch about 4 minutes worth of adds on Hulu though.
Only things I need to sort out now is shush.se using the info Yotch and JvanD gave me and I still need to hook up XMBC to my network shares.
If all goes well, I might be in the market for another one soon.
Oh and I need to buy an air mouse, the mini keyboard\trackpad I have SUCKS![]()
@heartbroken The jitters are due to the Netflix optimizing the network portion for our viewing pleasure. You can always set the Netflix quality settings under your profile on www.netflix.com website. Is your Netflix experience better on wired connection?
I'm running on a wired connection on my side and the experience is pretty good. Will also check via Wifi and see if it makes a difference on my end ... it was my next suggestion. Load the application Aptoid (much like Google Playstore) and ensure that you are always running the latest and greatest Netflix build. This bypasses Geo restrictions.
See this post in regards to using Aptoid: http://www.mbox.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=153
The first few ads on Hulu is there and nothing can be done about it. On the following add breaks the advertizements gets "fast forwarded" and from then its just watching and adds gets fast forwarded. Hulu is ad based I'm afraid as its part of their business model. Much like the repeats on DSTV. If you sign up for Hulu Plus you get 1 ad for every 30 minutes of watching which isn't too bad. They use the advertising to buy new content.

@heartbroken: You can also try this app to see if it helps with streaming Netflix via WiFi.

If any networking gurus can suggest the best TCP buffer settings, I'll add them to the next update
