The Droid TV thread

2 MB line is fine for SD. 4 MB for a bit better. 6 MB to 8 MB for HD. 10 to 20 MB for UHD 4K. Capped priority account is best as its about latency.
Usage depends on your behaviour. Hard question

The below assumptions are made from Netflix and 4K streaming.

480P - up to 0.3 GB per hour
720P - up to 0.7 GB per hour
1080P - up to 1 GB and or 2.3 GB per hour for HD
UHD 4k - 4.2 GB per hour provided that you use HEVC 265

i know its a tough question to answer based on users usage etc. As most of the content on Mobdro seem to be in SD, i think a 2MB uncapped line should be okay. Question is, that if i sit for hours streaming, which ISP is going to send me into a panic attack just before the green lights go out in the F1? lol :D

See my post - added it with additional information.

If you can measure it, you can manage it :p

Work out at which quality you will use and how often. Then do the math and bang ... problem solved.

Yes I know I'm awesome :p

**** dude, 480p is not to bad per hour. with all the cartoons my son watches, i think 50-100GB will go in 1 day :D When my daughter is older, its going to be Barbie movies, Dora and so again. Getting expensive

Let say the following applies in your house hold and the Netflix assumption is used:

300 MB per hour for SD
x 10 hours a day = 3 GB
3 GB per day x 30 days a month = 90 GB

Best capped DSL package for you now ...
Openweb capped unshaped ADSL package:

Up to 150 GB = R185 excluding line rental and telephony fee. Promotion now that gives you 1TB of data free to use from 12 am to 6 am.

PS: My math is really really bad .. just double check

F1 is 2 hours on race day. thats around just under a 1GB for the entire race in SD? not too bad :-)

Jaque my wife says she still had issues with the remote this morning. Didnt want to do anything. like i said, i had to reboot the box, and then it started working again

Did you change the batteries?

Something else you can try is plugging in a USB keyboard.

Screw that ... I want the F1 in 4K ... UHD no wait ... thinking of skipping the 4K thing and just wait for 8K!
I for one wont be getting a 4K TV soon - just don't see the point.
Oh b.t.w the 4K works pretty good on the MXIII - hooked it up at a mates house last weekend.
Then again ... I watch practice, qualifying, race day and even other shows around it ... and everything leading up to the event.

2 GB for me? Lmfao - erm no :p
