The Droid TV thread

Hi guys,

I am seriously think of getting one of these as the price is so much better than that of an NUC.

Anything specific I should be aware of to use it out of the box? Initial XBMC settings like setting screen size, getting rid of menu while in playback etc? Never used xbmc before :-(

The unit will be a standalone unit for media playback (music and video). Not streaming or networked in any way.

It needs to play the following in addition to the basis mkv, mp4, avi, ogm etc:

ISO, vob, m2ts, ts

Main playback is to be 10-bit 1080p mkv or mp4.

I am also thinking about getting an T2 airmouse? Any thought on this or is the supplied remote control sufficient?

@Worsie101 love a Intel NUC but I love my MXIII more cause it's not a PC.

XBMC plays fine and works like a treat.

Media codec support is pretty good and I play Bluray ISO most of time.
Also MP4 and MKV and AVI, no really TS and M2TS should work just fine.

Get an air mouse it's worth it and will better your user experience.

Only thing I haven't tested is .ISO. Definitely get the airmouse - or the MX3 with keyboard (also has gyroscopic mouse).

Yeh Jaque will collect from me on Monday to test. Don't expect a new box if it can be sorted out via some tests. But I'm sure he will let me know.

But quality service again from Jaque :) at least I've been patient, I know Jvan would been doing somersaults already
 
Ordered my items - both remote and the unit itself out of stock. Waiting anxiously!!

nah as said on whatsapp, the good news is that its not the box it seems, but the remote. So hopefully Jaque can get me a replacement remote of some sorts. The iremote and the xbmc app works great, but i prefer to have an actual remote, and the missus also prefers one.
 
Just wanted to purchase 2 of these DroidTV MXIII's
Seems Company VAT number is required to purchase from AVSupply :(

I don't have a company and I need these ASAP, as they are gifts for my family... wtf do I do now?

I have purchased from AVSupply without giving a VAT number.
