The Droid TV thread

Ok when trying to stream a channel I get a script error, any ideas? Note I'm using 3G just to test the various channels and so on.

Ok, thanks. I will test this weekend and keep you guys posted.

So I gave 106k4 a go but it made no difference to DSTV Now and Sky Go Tablet actually didnt recognise the box as a tablet (most likely a phone). The firmware was also too unstable to be used in the long term. I've reverted to the latest custom firmware of 110k4v3 by Mediaman.

Very cool!!!

I can't take any credit, I just modified and signed it

Download link added to bottom of the page, install with AppInstaller, then go "Settings > More Settings > Home" and select it

For anyone having issues with stability of their MXIII, I recommend installing CPU Tuner and tuning the CPU down a little. Mine used to hang occasionally (usually when I'm not using it overnight) and now it's as stable as my older MX (which is ultra stable). I've tuned it down as low as 1.2Ghz and it's still plenty fast to run anything I throw at it. Normally it clocks at 2Ghz.

I thought it was the PSU but it turns out it's not. I may be unique in the issues I've had but I'm ultra happy now that it's running flawlessly.

Hey Guys

is there a way to search my hard drives via xbmc? i noticed there is a search option, but whenever i type in something, it displays no results. any ideas?

Nothing - returns an empty list. Astro File manager on the other hand can see the shares just fine.

I'll try smb:// tonight and maybe also try set up some NFS shares (hear its better for linux-->linux anyway)

Thanks for the help

Worked like a charm when I used smb://.

Thanks!

The first Droid box I installed could install plenty of skins.... the second box I'm installing today says "incompatible" next to each and every skin in the XBMC Repo.
...and RE-FOCUS isn't even in the list. WTF? :wtf:

This one has Gotham 13.2, I think the other box had a different version or something, is that possible?

Okay I need to manually install the skin, so I need access to /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata/ using ESFile Explorer.
It seems to me the .xbmc folder is hidden though (folder name starts win a ".")

Any idea how I can access this folder, and copy a directory from a USB stick?

If the box is rooted, you can use root browser under tools (on the left) to show hidden files, etc.

Okay I managed to copy the skin manually (there was an option to show hidden files in ESFile Explorer's settings)
Skin doesn't work. no home menu.

WTF? How can no skins be compatible with my DroidTV's xbmc version?
I don't get it, the first box I set up was 100% fine?

Weird

Maybe try resetting XBMC back to factory default? Go to "Settings > More Settings > Apps > XBMC" and clear data / cache

That Worked! Wow!
DANKIE BAIE!

I've basically fixed everything I struggled with now, thanks to you guys.
This is definitely the best media player out there. Fast too!

I'm looking to buy one for myself now, how is that ICASA story looking?

I've emailed all the required certificates to a contact at ICASA.

He's away until the 5th, so I'll only know then if the docs can be used to register the MXIII

Will keep everyone posted

And if they release a new version? Do you have to apply from scratch?
