okay after the update, im getting random black screens while watching things.. any ideas what is happening here? im also getting random exits from SPMC, again any ideas on what is happening?

SPMC auto minimizes if you press the back button too many times

Random black screen, have you tried forcing the output resolution?

the ouput resolution was forced yes.. i know SPMC minimizes if you press back to many times, however the exits are happening while watching something.

Did you have any issues when using Gotham 13.2?

surprisingly i had no issues with Gotham 13.2. ill have a look at that Jaque and see what happens

You can use an Apple or Android phone as an airmouse... not quite as good as the real thing but pretty handy if you already have one.

I would think you need a server (MXQ) and client (Phone) app

Yes - the site explains it all. You get the apk from the site for the MXQ and the phone app from Play store or iStore.

Definitely pick up the remote - it's worth it. I use the cell app when I'm comfortable and not near the remote - I'm inevitably always near my phone. The remote is way faster and works better with one handed operation.
