The Droid TV thread

Can I use hardware and software acceleration on the MXQ? What's best hardware or software re Kodi

Yeah should work it's a s805 with Mali 450 GPU - hardware is best IMHO. B.t.w remember to keep your drives defragged to optimize playback unless you like stuttering on playback

Weird thing happened, I got the Droid and hooked it up.

I played a movie on the HP Server, using plex server and plex on the droid
It stuttered quite badly and the units are not that far away from each other, well the modem is in the middle of the 2. The HP is wired and obviously the droid is wireless

I then ran downstairs and thought perhaps after troubleshooting, the cable is screwed, replaced it with a shorter one and it seems better now.
Will update as I dont know if thats the issue yet.
Also updated plex server

I don't do wireless on any of these units - wired works best IMHO and trumps wireless everytime.

how do i defrag? unscrew, and then what? ;)

I'm getting so frustrated with SPMC/XBMC. Have everything set up, then it crashed. Then it does the set up for 1st run but does nothing and kicks out again. I forced stopped the app, cleared the cache and rebooted and still nothing.

Not the 1st time, I have had to uninstall and reinstall SPMC, and then have to setup everything again.

How can I back up the stuff I did on SPMC, so if I reinstall it, everything is the way it was?

Why not uninstall and download a fresh copy of Kodi Helix 14.2?

I'm doing that now. But how do I backup all the data like the addons, repos etc
sdcard/android/data/com.semperpax.spmc/files/.spmc/userdata
It's a hidden folder, so you need root access to access it, then just zip and copy the zip file to a flash drive and then use as your backup.
ES File Manager works quite good.

Updated to Kodi - Isengard on the ATV582 and since then, when trying to play a video my receiver/TV goes off sync. The ATV582 is connected to my receiver and then to TV. To play the video i have to skip forward so the receiver/TV get the signal and plays the video.
Very strange issue and was wondering it anyone else is experiencing this?

Similar playback issues have been reported on the mbox forum. If you didn't have the problems on Kodi 14.2, re-install that version and wait for the Kodi 15 issues to be ironed out

How does one update firmware ? I clicked update and nthng happens

I removed the update button on our custom ROM, as the last MyGica OTA firmware update disabled the remote.

If you would like to manually update to a newer or older firmware, a Micro SD card is required.
