The Droid TV thread

Slightly off topic....help please...

The "cast" button in my dstv now app on my galaxy S7 has dissapeared?

Casting from my S7 to my Mi box was working great and then since yesterday, the cast button in the app dissapeared?

I can still cast the screen through the Google home app to the Mi Box, but cant get the cast button back in DSTV now.

Any ideas???

Only I'm getting like buffering....

Not the internet as YouTube , netflix and kodi NEVER buffers. Is it the app? Watch sport becomes frustrating

Casting is no longer necessary, just install the latest version of dstv now 1.40.12 on the mi box.

Mi Box VS Xbox

Hi Guys

I'm looking for some advice, I currently have a Xbox 360 that I use for streaming Netflix, Plex and Youtube but want to sell it and get a Mi Box as I no longer game on it at all, only game on PC.

My question is if any one tried Moonlight to stream games from their PC on the Mi Box and if any one else feel that the Mi box carries the same value as a Xbox360 as it seems I will only get around R1600 for the Xbox to buy the Mi Box.

I gave Moonlight a go on my Mi Box a while back, and it was definitely playable, but I don't know how well fast-paced games would do, I didn't try any FPS games as such. Will try again this weekend perhaps and see how that goes. It might go better if you're wired instead of wireless. The graphics quality was fine, but there was some input lag.

If gaming is important to you and you have a suitable Nvidia graphics card on your PC then shell out for the Nvidia Shield TV.

Hi Guys

I see that some of you are able to stream DSTV using chrome browser

I've tried this on my minix neo u1, but it just hangs on the loading screen. Anyone else had success with this?

Am i missing something?

Thanks

I'll test and revert back.
No go, just crashes as soon as the logo is displayed. I'm updating to the official AndroidTV 8 Oreo now will see of it works after the update perhaps.

I've tried moonlight on the Nexus player. If both the PC and AndroidTV ethernet wired then it's fine imo

No dice even on Oreo. Casting works fine

I have an old MXQ box in front of me, guy bought it about 2 years ago. It's running Android 4.4.2 from what I can see, and old version of Kodi installed.

Is there a way I get the latest support Android working on this thing, and the latest Kodi 17.5 ?

Any help appreciated

Kodi Krypton (17.0 and later) only works on Android 5 or later , not sure if there is a custom rom for your mxq.

I tried the latest LibreELEC 8.2 “hd18q build” and it boots off the SD card with no issue at all.

Only problem is that the bloody remote doesn’t work. Tried various remote config files but nothing worked. So all I could do was stare at a Kodi 17.5 welcome screen

Now I’m trying a Android 5.1.1 Lollipop image that I found, installed using TWRP

that’s busy at the moment....

Installation of myGica Kodi 17 port on KitKat: Pretty simple, just go to the Google PlayStore and download ‘FIREDL’ then open up the app, type 60002 and click download and wait for that to complete then the app installation prompt will appear.
.

Well I’ve broken this thing... the remote REFUSES to work, I’ve tried different batteries and it’s not working. Was working fine earlier.

Is there a way to re-pair this remote???
