Yes, it works 100% and it is a bit different to the DSTV version you get on a tablet (or native) Android device.

The thing I find lacking is (1)No TVGuide (2)No "forward look". Other than that, it is smooth, fast and very
intuitive.
 
So, I just picked up a LIT BOX to see what the fuss is about and first impressions is very good. The Initial verdict is "quite nice". I do not use Netflix, but I do use DSTV, which works out-the-box...

For the basic price of R1099, it is WAY better than the other stuff, not supporting any of the "streamers" used in South Africa.

My personal opinion: If you are wanting one of these to use on KODI, DSTV, Terrarium, ... then get one. If you need to also see Netflix, get a MI Box, if you are into games, then this is the wrong forum for you. After-all, it does specify "TV Services..." :)

I believe this can be done, but you will have to do some "mouse" navigation with your remote. Pretty much like DSTV on a device without Android TV...

ps - but it does save you R600 bucks over the MI Box just for this 'error', but believe me, it will get fixed...

Not sure if this works but did it on my Minix:
Team view on laptop Teamviewer quick support on Lit

there's an option to send files , and you can control the Lit with Teamviewer as well.
makes it easier to navigate and type etc

I posted a link among all the posts of a hacked android tv Netflix . Works with the normal lit remote. Android tv netflix is the best

Not sure why people say netflix tv app doesnt work on lit box. Yes currently you cant download from playstore but page 69 on the lit group has a link for a working tv netflix app, not the phone one. Works perfectly
 
Not to start a flaming-war, but I am almost at the point to say that (I have both the LIT and the MI boxes) it seems that South Africa Telkom has done an excellent job on the LIT.

Streaming-wize I believe it is a better box and the ONLY thing the MI has over the LIT is the built-in microphone on the remote. (Which I only used once and with my poor South African accent keeps hitting porn-sites when I search for "Lemon Parties", I am not sure why!)

Have you tried the casting function on the two boxes , any difference in the experience ? I would really like to know.

I agree with you, it's just the Netflix issue that needs to be sorted out to be a true "plug n play" box.
