The Drum Thread

Take a look at the Mapex drum mat. You should be able to pick it up from a Paul Bothners or Marshall Music.
!

sweet thanks!
I watched the video, not really my style of play or music but it is pretty quick :)

Yeah it isn't for everyone :)

You can see the Mapex drum mat in this video as well. Might be more enjoyable and is of my band so shameless self promoting!

I've been using the mat for 8 years and have had no problems. It's been carted to practices and studios and with a quick vacuum it looks brand new.

Nice dude.

Looking at your sig where it says drummer, gamer... do you know of Dan Presland? His YouTube channel is like 80% sick drumming and then a bunch of vids of him playing COD.

Yeah I know of Dan. Not a fan of Ne Obliviscaris, but he's super tight and clean in his playing.

I love his work with Dimmu Borgir, especially on The Chosen Legacy... @_@

Hellhammer is amazing, but in terms of Dimmu's stuff, Daray's work on Abrahadabra was really great - solid and punchy - and Barker on Puritanical is probably my all-time favourite for pure technicality.

So...
i figured drummers need their own little corner on MyBB as well :)

Thought I would start off with some intro's

3 drummers alive today that I admire:
1. Danny carey
2. Carter beauford
3. Craig Blundell (odd one i know, there are tons of others..queue mike portnoy / dave lombardo etc)

Current Kit
Td4k2, still stock standard

I played for a while, then took a long, long break.
Recently got the kit, absolutely loving getting back into things.

Currently just working on getting my feel back, starting lessons end month so I dont get bad habits early on!

Anyone else got v-drums?
Recomendations on double bass pedals?

Carter Beauford should be top of that list.
I saw him live and hot damn that man its a crazy freak with those skills.
Almost had to punch someone to get a drumstick that he threw into the crowd... people would have been upset with me punching a 12 year old kid though :/

I go through phases where I enjoy danny more than carter, and then vice versa.
I would agree though that carter is probably the better overall drummer. He is just so damn effortless and smooth. I was listening to the listener supported version of two step, where carter jams with the piano, its sublime

Check out my son playing at a concert.

Opened the Conference Speakers International Conference, Opened the Auditor Generals Conference with delegates from 16 countries. and Many more.
