The Duke Nukem Thread

I ordered my DNF on steam just now. Release date 10/06/2011. @ R322

Don't think there is a demo though. :erm:
 
Duke Nukem 3D was my first fps multiplayer game.... but still just a maybe for me
 
Pre-ordered mine on Steam as well, worked out at R321 which I think is a bonus.

I don't expect it to compete with realism of most FPS games nowadays, in fact I don't want realism, where you mostly sit crouched so that you can aim and hit your target, no I want something where I can run around and just blow stuff up like in the good old days, along with the usual lines he speak the whole time, yes that will make the game perfect for me.

From one of the interview videos with the Gearbox developers, it sounds like there will be around 15-18 hours of gameplay and then after that 5 hours of credits!!

Wait what? Duke nukem with a good story line? Who are you kidding here buddy? You are buying the game for the same reason the rest of us are.

You ever play Serious Sam 2? I think that would satisfy all your requirements. No subtlety, no sneaking around. Grab your biggest gun and blast away. Quality!

Yup, loved it to bits. After finishing it the 1st we alsa lan'd it co-op multiple times on the nightmare (or whatever the craziest difficulty was). It is however fairly old now, and I think DNF will be my next favorite. As you can see, it shouldn't take much to please me :)
 
I managed to get a pre-order for a balls of steel edition a few weeks ago. No idea what to expect.

Pretty much the only reason why I bought it. :erm: :D
 
I have my first access code but won't be downloading the demo. Would rather experience The full game without preconceptions.
 
I played the demo last night and had a few good laughs, the comments are really funny. I was a little bit underwhelmed though, the game feels ... consoly. I guess I'll still get it on Steam in a few days, just for melancholy's sake and for thanking Gearbox for finally reviving it.
