Sadly not even the jokes are half funny. Everything in this game fails. It doesn't really feel like the Duke of 1996 either. People can defend it all they want, but it's not even worth a price of over R100. Should be for sale for R50. Gearbox released this abomination to coin some extra donut cash. 3/10 for me.
 
Well i am enjoying it kinda :D

I think people need to understand this game was never about being ground breaking, it is about bringing duke back. Job well done i reckon :D.

I have not seen any tits yet :(. Perhaps i have not played enough
 
I got mine Friday. The launch party at Hooters was meh, instead I grabbed food at the little chinese place and went home to install and play Duke!

Spent 20hrs over Sat and Sun playing Duke.. loved it. It's not supposed to be groundbreaking or whatnot - it's pure classic nostalgia, blood and guts and pretty chicks.
I dig the Duke one-liners! I played pinball and lost almost immediately, and Duke tunes "I am FULL OF... fail." Another insider joke is the steam puzzle where Duke tunes "I hate Valve Puzzles". There were a couple of others that absolutely killed me.

I feel it was definitely worth the money, but then again i'm very biased. Death Rally and Duke Nukem were two of my very first games ever. :love:
 
I'm still enjoying Duke Nukem very much. One of the most fun games I've played in a long while. Games these days are too easy. DNF isn't like that. There's no hand holding. You need to figure **** out yourself.

Load times on PC are very quick BTW. Sorry for you guys that got it on console.
 
I'm enjoying it as well, it's finally starting to feel like the Duke of old. But I still have an issue with the load times (on console), and also the platform bits that I've now come across. Hopping from platform to platform can be a bit irritating when you will most likely die a few times and have to wait 40 seconds for it to reload each time (I'm referring to the Duke Burger chapter in particular here).

The chick strapped to the phallic shaped hive growth looked cool :D

TBH it is not the best I've played but it is interesting and I've played for about close on 3 hours. Thats nearly as long as Medal of Honour, if it keeps me entertained for more than 8 hours thats successful for me.

I bought it because if your a old gamer, you really just can't help yourself. Hell if they released new versions of Shadow Warrior and Redneck Rampage, I'd buy those too, because those games have something a lot of modern fps don't: CHARACTER!

I do think they tried to hard on the one liners though.

Oh wow, a remake of Shadow Warrior would be awsome. Just update the graphics and I'll be happy, keep all the original dialogue and weapons. So many classic lines!
 
Just finished it today, the ending was a bit meh. After the credits there's a bit more so you'll need to hang on (not sure if you get the clip if you skip the credits). Overall it's been a good game - not the best I've played but it's been enjoyable.

Me too and I'd have to say the same conclusion. I'm just glad it was longer than half the other fps I've played in the last year.
