Again, irrelevant. These are PROVINCIAL elections. The DA could get 100% of the CoJ vote and it will make no difference to the CoJ local government.
RZA has a point though - this could prove an important piece in any gerrymandering.

all this discussion with national vs provincial. fact of the matter is, municipality elections are almost more important than these national ones. they are the ones that are responsibility for things that effect our every day life ie. service delivery.

In Tshwane they have ran out of space (you have to go across provincial areas now).

I agree it would have been good, and it's a real pity it was botched like it was. But I really think you're making too much of it. Why should someone be fired because of it? It was a mistake, and they apologised.

I think Agang bore the brunt of that folly, especially Ramphele's role in it.

Because they made it such a big deal without doing their homework properly. They ran to the media and with massive fanfare announced it to the world. And then boom. Oops sorry we didn't do our work properly. I expect more.

Wesleigh - just apply for the visa, we decided to do it a year or so back and we had our PR visas granted within 6 months of starting with the process. I expected it to be a lot tougher than it was and we now have an insurance policy until May 2018.

Really don't understand. These people deserve the government they voted in. Service delivery protests should not be tolerated any longer - arrest the bastards...

Looks to me like they're counted simultaneously. If you click on national or provincial results on News24 it shows different figures. More people in Gauteng voted ANC for national than voted ANC for Gauteng. :p

Well, counting speeds and randomness in the boxes would make sure they are not the same even if everyone voted the same for national and provincial (until the last votes were counted)

What if I voted NFP and got IFP instead? Can I not protest the IFP's lack of serving me?

Are you saying people shouldn't hold the party they voted for accountable?
