Everyone's strategy is dependent on everyone else following suit. Imagine if you and everyone you know voted for KISS? I mean, since we're voted along "least corrupt" lines, I've never heard of or seen a KISS corruption scandal, so why did you not vote for KISS? KISS seems like the best choice actually. I should have voted KISS. Damn.

I voted for the strongest opposition against the most corrupt party. If you'd like to continue your boring discussion PM me.

Been looking at the results so far at News24's website: http://www.news24.com/Elections/Results#map=live&election=national

I must say, I am kind of shocked EFF is now the 3rd largest political party, they definitely going to get seats in parliament :( DA has been doing fine so far, going to approach 25%. I hope ANC gets a high 50%, not liking the low 60 they sitting on at the moment.

Lol...Agang SA, I don't see them getting more than 1%

SEVERE egg on the face of the party leadership who backed out of the merger with the DA. Some of them would have been in parliament...

What was boring was how you tried to belittle someone else's voting strategy.

ANC is not getting less than 60%, that's guaranteed. Remember that votes from the suburbs are counted first due to low turnout compared to rural and township areas, so you can be sure that the DA has reached the ceiling of 25% and only EFF and ANC can go higher.

Not one of the links are working for me :( could everyone stop hitting refresh so often.

Why did they count Umzimvubu in Mount Ayliff first then?

You can't ridicule people's voting choice while presenting yours as superior and then ask people to PM you.

Actually.. I can do whatever I want? lol. People don't need to oblige but i can still do it :)

ANC has surged to 62% according to News24. The Tshwane Metro and Midvaal now see the DA with 50%, but Tshwane still has many outstanding wards. Nelson Mandela Metro is neck-and-neck, 46% (ANC) to 42% (DA). Hopefully the DA gets at least one large metro outside of the Western Cape.

We need a 2 or 3 horse race
We need a 20 horse race...

Service delivery is a problem of complacency. It doesn't matter what initials you carry - when you hold a functional majority you get complacent and accountability is non-existent. Getting 60% vote for DA won't change that. What we need is a lot more bickering in the lower house and a prime minister that's sweating to please them. This can't be achieved with a majority.

The only votes that are truly lost are the votes that fall away due to division of the limited number of seats. IE: 50k seats per chair in parliament, so 50,001 votes for a party results in 1 chair and 1 lost vote. 49,999 votes in a party results in 49,999 lost votes etc. We will only be able to calculate this at the end.

Its about strategic voting, all politicians are corrupt but none as basically as arrogant as the ANC or EFF. So kindly go play in traffic.

Wow, you really are a piece of work. Adding you to my ignore list.

Why not do it anyway? Have you ever lived abroad? Could be a fun experience. :)

lol, seriously? It's a political gamble that didn't pay off, not Nkandla 2.0.

If they had properly done it I think it would have been great for South Africa, but it was such a rush job than it's just plainly embarrassing and the people responsible should be fired for it. That debacle cost AGANG everything, and probably the DA a lot of votes as well.

ANC will enlarge the boundary lines of NM metro to include a few black areas, like they did with Tshwane. This will ensure that they keep control of the metro.

Again, irrelevant. These are PROVINCIAL elections. The DA could get 100% of the CoJ vote and it will make no difference to the CoJ local government.

Yep, I can see that happening.

I wonder how much the ANC must steal for the voters to wake up. I guess 260M odd is not enough.

Yeah, thinking clearly now, you are correct.

They can't take any metros, these aren't local government elections. Only national and provincial.

I agree it would have been good, and it's a real pity it was botched like it was. But I really think you're making too much of it. Why should someone be fired because of it? It was a mistake, and they apologised.

I think Agang bore the brunt of that folly, especially Ramphele's role in it.
