Errr, no. Look up the droop quota.

I don't think you understood the question. The Droop quota is used to determine how many votes are required to get a seat. It does not address the issue of what happens to the votes to those parties which did not reach it.

Clearly MyBroadband does not represent the national demographic.
Cmon RPM, where's your quota policy?

Speaking of poor reasons not to vote, I just saw a horrible reason not to vote (im sitting at a by election). Some dudette flipped out and refused to vote cause they put ink on your thumb and she just had her nails done.

@DA: If you're reading this - please don't phone me to ask who I'm voting for. It's none of your damn business and that call isn't doing anything to sway me. It's just pissing me off. Thx.

It's weird, I haven't had a single sms or phone call from the DA. What did you guys do to get hooked up with all this spam?

No one here knows your real name, so saying what you just did here is kinda pointless. Did you ask the person who called you to remove you from their database? If you did and they call you again please PM me with your details and I will follow it up

The fact remains that it's none of their business who I'm voting for. To even pose the question over the phone is absurd. I can understand a call asking to please vote DA or something along those lines, but to ask who I'm voting for? So no - I don't thing the post is pointless because the question shouldn't be posed to anyone. And I wasn't posting in the hopes that they would stop calling me specifically; I posted to raise the issue of them cold-calling ppl with silly questions.

If they were not a political party you might have a point there.

Its called polling. Its standard across the world... Im afraid you are in for a disappointing life if you have a problem with this.... cause just about every democratic country in the world does it.

A good news story for other people. I was at my wards by election. In my ward the DA got over 93% of the vote. My specific voting station the DA got 98% of the vote

Edit: An I just heard, good news for the ladies and gents in PE, the DA just won ward 1 by 85%

I do not agree with the everything the DA says and does, BUT, I personally believe this country needs a change of government soon before it goes to custard and in that light the DA are the only party that offer a tangible alternative and a chance for change.

Maybe one day when South African democracy is mature and people are not voting because apartheid and race, I'll vote for someone more in line with my views.

Cold calling is never okay. Why should they know who he is or who I am? I did not asked to be called by the DA, and it's none of their damn business who I vote for.

Its very strange how differently people react to the messages or communications from the DA. You get a handful of people where its armageddon and their whole reason to vote DA goes out the window and then you get this:

I got an sms from the DA about every second day! must say..love their persistance! and what an unbelieveable positive atmosphere at the voting station!

Voting day in beacon bay. The DA has now called me four different times to ask if they can count on my vote. No one else cared to call me. No on else cares. Uvotela!

(These were taken just from posts on my wall today)

As I said, if you have a problem with this, you are going to have a difficult life. Its not going to stop. Polling is common practice through democracies everywhere. In America they have automated phone banks doing this.

and it's none of their damn business who I vote for.
I guess you would have a point if votes were not the life blood of a political party.
