Talvekoidik is the electronica side-project of a very talented German musician, Kai, founding member of S.K.E.T. (Hands Productions). With his first release as Talvekoidik -an Estonian word meaning a foggy, winter like atmosphere (or word by word “winter dawn”) - Kai offers us an album of brilliant and original electronica that finds its influences in Gridlock and Beefcake as well as in Scandinavian, Baltic, Arabic and African musical traditions.
Conceived in terms of rhythmic structures supporting catchy melodies, “Silent Reflections” is a work full of oppositions and contrasts enriched by a Celtic feeling, a somewhat epic touch. Alternately powerful, fragile and rough, Talvekoidik’s music is a mature, expressive and subtle demonstration of Kai’s talent as a “sound architect”.

Los Angeles resident Steven Ellison. a.k.a. Juno Leed a.k.a. Flying Lotus is an electronic artist/hip-hop beat-maker, occasionally linked to artists such as Madlib , J Dilla and fellow LA resident The Gaslamp Killer for his more abstract and sometimes jazz-tinted style. Flying Lotus, often abbreviated to FlyLo, is currently signed to Warp Records, although he released his first album, 1983 on Plug Research Records, the label to which he belonged from 2006-2007. His June 2008 release, Los Angeles, with cover art designed by Build & Timothy Saccenti, was released to positive critical reviews. As well as serious album work, remixes and production for artists such as Oddisee and John Robinson, FlyLo is also responsible for many of the musical loops heard during the ‘bumps’ on Adult Swim, as well as being a casual filmmaker.
Being the great-nephew of Alice Coltrane, John Coltrane’s wife, Ellison comes from a musical heritage about which he says: “My greatest influences are my family, I’m lucky to have been around so many accomplished musicians.” When discussing the sources of his imagination and inspiration, he explains that : “I see these tracks as little short films that play in my head… I have this beautiful lemon tree in my backyard, and on a sunny day the light shines through. Little things like that inspire me.”
His new album Cosmogramma has received universally positive reviews, with cover art by Leigh McCloskey.

Taking his name from the “Cyberpunk 2020″ off-shoot card game “Netrunner”, the once elusive Access To Arasaka has seemly come out of nowhere to take the electronic music community by storm with his debut full-length CD album ‘Oppidan‘ in 2009.
A futuristic journey of a cerebral nature, demonstrating a virtual equinox of surgical beatwork and densely-layered atmospheres, ‘Oppidan‘ transcended complexity and innovation in electronic music to arrived at the very edge of its own inner space.
The Rochester, NY producer’s cyberpunk influences are evident as he skillfully paints each sonic soundscape with expert precision and meticulous attention to detail. The artist describes his music as “a mixture of every influence I’ve ever had, past and present. As the general idea of this project is a way to describe the future I anticipate, the sounds and styles themselves are an homage to every song that has already taken me there.”
After the out-of-nowhere success of his debut CD ‘Oppidan‘ in 2009, the Rochester, NY producer Access To Arasaka returns a year later, stronger and more focused than ever, with a stunning new album on Tympanik Audio titled ‘void();‘.
Sixteen new tracks of dark sonic futurism inspired by the history and future of system hacking. From the phone phreaks to the console cowboys; dirty hippies using blue boxes at payphones 40 years ago, to the unborn children wandering cyberspace 40 years from now. An open invitation for the listener to imagine what a computer might attempt to comprehend when its system is under such an attack. Perfectly dark, cinematic, complex, and hauntingly surreal. This is what we have all been waiting for…
got the social network soundtrack and i'm liking this very much. i'm a bit of a biased trent reznor fanboy so i'll like it regardless.
