The Electronic Music Thread

Sweet. Up it for us? ;)

Depends if you're into the harder side of tech trance. And whether you can put yourself through the vocals. Early 90's cheese vocals that I decided required a fresh sound. Its a track that most men absolutely hate, et most women sing along because it actually is true, regardless of what they tell their ex-boyfriends.

Any guesses as to the spicey vocals?

BTW, here is a breakdown of some of my chart listings. Not all that impressive TBH. I need to do some marketing or actually add some new tunes methinks:

Here is a link to stream my new track called Don't Want No.

The full description and background to the track is on the site. Constructive feedback would be appreciated. It is very much a tech-trance track with old-skool hardhouse elements, which felt right considering the vocals. I will be releasing a tech-house mix of this tune as well. It is an edited version for fear of ye hardy Captain Jack Swallows, but I will be viral marketing this track soon in which case those who enjoy it will get a copy to distribute...

Here it is: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=383849

I used to use this site quite a bit but havent updated much there for quite a while. My newer tracks are available on my google website but I'll keep that one a secret until I have my proper music on there. Stay tuned...

I think it's impressive :) - nice to have you here.

Perhaps you could .rar all your top tracks (as well as the latest) and up to UUNET?

Curse those 2am database errors... Goodnight.

Thanks man. Well Supernova did well and even made it into the German, UK and French official radio playlist charts when it was released in 2005/2006. Made it to #27 in the dance charts in UK which I often regard as more of an achievement than the soundclick charts. However I sometimes forget that soundclick has over 250,000 tracks in its charts and I made it to #450. It still charts every now and then so some people still enjoy it. Personally I'm not too keen on it anymore so am going to spice it up 2008 style soon with a techier remix for 2009 release. Some of those tracks have been on the charts since 2004 though, which maybe I should regard as an achievement as well...

Me listens to my new track - Dont Want No - unmastered version. Give it a week - awaiting the licensing grants from EMI before official release...

Do you master your own tracks?

Banging track - people will surely go off to it in the clubs. Hope not too many get offended. :D All the best, keep us posted.

Thanks man - much appreciated. Will keep this thread up to date about release dates and the viral campaign...

this isnt really the type of music i like, but good job with the refresh button on that one :). unfortunately i absolutely despise the cheese of the atrocious original. wasnt the artist gilette or someone or other? i hope it does well on the charts, and i'm sure it will too.

Maybe Phillip Glass doesn't qualify:he mostly uses conventional instruments.
i only got one phillip glass track: aphex twin - ICCT Hedral - phillip glass orchestration, and it rocks!

i bought the trentemoller chronicles and its sublime, worth checking out:

Ah yes, i've been meaning to check out Aphex Twin.Colab. with Glass motivates me even more.

I remember i have seen John McLaughlin named here before, but i'm not sure how many of you are aware of one of his latest albums(think it's his most recent):Industrial Zen

It's a combination of ambient layerings, jazz, his eastern flavours(this time a vocalist as well) and more.

examples of this are:

http://www.last.fm/music/John+McLaughlin/_/New+Blues+old+Bruise?autostart

http://www.last.fm/music/John+McLaughlin/_/Mother+Nature?autostart

Could unfortunately not find it on Youtube, only clips from Lastfm.
