You're assuming that they want to bite.Until ICASA is given sufficient teeth to bite Telkom plus the cell phone megalopolis they will be unable to attract people of the calibre required.
Top level competent people don't join organisations that are hamstrung against achieving their aims ....
So what's the implications for us then?what is happening has been predicted for years - the ECA with its more liberal framework is not going to be implemented properly because ICASA is not capable of doing this...without being overly dramatic the next 2-3 years are going to an absolute mess
Obviously I agree 100% that ICASA is not at all independent, but surely something first has to be done at a constitutional level before attempting to reboot ICASA and delete Ivy's lapdogs from the program...?@ ic - too late - ICASA is already firmly under the thumb of the DoC - this is a fait accompli...they may as well just drop the "independent" and the pretence
