He was being his usual awesome self and post was correctly deleted. Add him to your ignore list like some already have.a single f35 cost the us taxpayer 87 million USD, how many F35 are there in that photo?
quite a few, so do the math? how big is the US defense budget? big, but does it cover everything?
maybe, but still if a enemy were to strike and take out that many hi tech jets, how big will the hole in the defence budget be?
quite significant, I dont think they can just write off that expense so easily.

You left off a zero? It was $610 billion last year. The US has a defence budget of $82 billion dollars in 2019.

still its quite a large chunk of change should some terrorist with a grenade/c4 gets onto an airfield and plants c4 on all those jets,
I mean look at USS cole, that was a really expensive warship, destroyed by a zodiac with a bomb,
one shoudnt underestimate what terrorists are capable of, especially given how expensive those jets are.
Seriously, give it up, you are posting nonsense that just makes you look stupid.
The USS Cole was just a run of the mill Arleigh Burke destroyer of which the US has around 65, not a “really expensive” warship, maybe something like the USS Harry Truman could be described as “really expensive” and even more to the point, the USS Cole wasn’t destroyed by the terrorist attack...
but still it managed to (completely) cripple a warship many times more expensive than itself, got to show you for the ingenuity of the terrorists.
just imagine if it had been a real war? taken out by a rubber zodiac with a few grenades. now imagine a carrier? all that parked airplanes, including some F35's
so again, if a well armed terrorist got onto an airfield, and managed to strap a few charges to some of those jets,
could have caused a very big issue , especially if he managed to destroy 10-20 jets all parked.
yes, its unlikely, but again, if the US deploys forces to some warzone, where they aren't needed, and some lucky bugger manages to strap a few bombs to jets.
there will be quite a show, and quite an aftermath.
is it nonsense? not so much, all it takes is one, and the fireworks will start.

I read a novel many years ago, I think it was simply called World War 3.
It was written by a retired General.
Anyway, the scenario he illustrated was an Airbase being attacked by heavy trucks and machinery to breach the gate. The attackers then targeted all the force multipliers - tankers, AWACS and transport planes.
With the loss of the tankers the fighters, bombers and attack aircraft wings were clipped. Range drastically reduced made the airforces slow to respond and limited their effectiveness.
The enemy had struck at NATO's centre of gravity.
Carl Von Clausewitz developed this concept in his works On War.
I felt the scenario was unrealistic, but plausible.

Conjecture on the supply chain bit. It cannot be singled out like that. Its the sum of the partsWell, the US military's greatest achievement is not the thousands of tanks, aircraft or ships. It's not so much the training of the personnel. Although all of the above is very important, the single most important function and one that they have mastered is their ability to resupply, ie their logistics.
If their logistical arm is severed, the US military as we know it will grind to a halt.
