There is no truth in the rumour that they wanted to take Mandela to hospital but when he heard what the tolls were going to cost he decided to check out.
 
WTF is a sheep-shagger allowed to comment here about tolling!!!!
In their nanny state they're all far behind, the government says bend, they say, how far sir, how big must I open sir?
Not one of them ever even attempted to hack a tag, or find ways to protest. I have seen a few cry on the internet though over the years.

Traffic officers in Ekurhuleni and Johannesburg, who are members of the SA Municipal Workers' Union (Samwu), were also on an unofficial go-slow. The union distanced itself from the unofficial go slow but confirmed that officers had been complaining they were forced to desert their official duties due to the massive traffic on alternatives routes to the e-tolled highways.

Samwu Gauteng legal officer Jack Mokalapa said the union had received complaints from members that it had been an "absolute disaster" on those roads in the morning as motorists avoided tolled highways.

"They are creating extra work for our officers and they can no longer attend to other emergencies. It's an operational disaster and there is not enough manpower."

Haha... maybe they should then let only one traffic cop man the speedtrap on Northumberland/Witkoppen road instead of the 5 it seems to take to operate those Trapeace cameras.

e-Toll Protection devices

I have been giving this some thought... and I have a theory for a device that will not obstruct your numberplate, but will protect your personal numberplate from being recorded by unauthorised systems such as the SANRAL.

I am sure some other people have similar theories...

Such a device should not infringe on any existing laws and should be easy to use for victims of the e-Toll extortion system.

Anyone like to share some thoughts on the topic?

Well I don't see how you would succeed. Nothing is allowed within 15cm of the plate.
 
SANRAL's cameras and most speed cameras have infra red filters on - so that would be completely useless. ;)
