Yes.

And your immune system is so protected than when something does get through your neurotic bubble you'll be sicker for it every time.

This. It's actually why the last few decades there has been an increase in auto immune diseases. Allergies too.

No offence, but that's bull****. That might be true in extreme cases like Howard Hughes, but the everyday average joe who doesn't rub his hands in everyone's filth is hardly going to be affected that severely.

You guys and your phobias. No one can say your hand hygiene is better than anyone else's, just think about how many things you come in contact with.

Walls
Phones
Money
Etc.

So you call it a handshake phobia...... :erm:

I don't see the point of not wanting to shake hands due to hygiene reasons..... I mean I saw first hand where some money came out from. Big mama stashing money in the boobs... Yeah that is nasty. I would rather shake a persons hand that want to touch money.....

Which is why whenever I've handled money, I make sure to wash my hands before I eat. ;)

That R10 could have been in some stripper's ass crack.

Just think how many germs are on the machines and weights at gym with all that sweat dripping everywhere. Guess we won't be seeing the op at gym.

Just don't touch your face, wash your hands regularly and you'll be fine. Not shaking hands is not cool man.

Or we can just say "Hi, nice to meet you." and skip the physical contact part entirely. ;)

I don't really understand the point of gestures in a greeting at all.

It's more sincere and personal. Siri says 'hi nice to meet you'. You expect more from a human being.

Shaking hands is disgusting. If a person wants to shake hands I usually say "Nothin' personal boet, I just don't like shaking hands."

"Hi, it's a pleasure to meet you" then. I don't know. I just don't see what exactly it is that makes a greeting accompanied by a gesture with no particular meaning or significance any more sincere or personal.

Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but the entire notion of grasping someone's hand and then both of you moving your hands up and down is very odd.

Lol sometimes it's not a pleasure to meet certain people, let alone shake their hands. I once shook a guys hand a long while back and later on found out that my hand had a strong scent of semen. Never shook another guys hand after that.

Shows you don't think they have some disease? If you were scared to touch them it would imply you think they dirty/sick.

So basically the very reason you don't want to shake hands.

I think you just need to be happy you not in sales or marketing :)

I'm not sure what I would find more ridiculous - someone calling me boet or refusing to shake my hand.
