To cut sheets of wood with straight lines, what's the best saw to get for home use?
I have a Makita track saw for portability (I bought the 3m track extra as well) and it does the job superbly. For quick set and rips though, table saw.

Jaysus plants get real expensive real quick
Definitely. If you want to redo your entire garden it be best to go to a bank beforehand. The garden will look AWESOME, untill the kids decide the plants need to sleep lying down...

Lol

Luckily I haven't spawned yet.

We do however have a rabbit which chowed all my salvias and if he gets munching on these new flower beds he's going straight in the stew.

Need to replace my garage door motor. Can get a Beoem fully installed at 3900.never heard of this brand. They say Centurion garage motors are not reliable.

i would rather get the centurion imo, but whatever you do, not a digidoor

Don't even quibble... Go straight to centurion and get their motor. It's worth every extra penny, and anyone who says they aren't reliable is a lying fskcwit.

How much money do you want to spend..? If around 10k, you want a track saw, one example:

If that's too rich, a circular saw with the right blade and a builders straight edge will cut straight lines too..

Although, I bought this combo and it worked great to cut down pine ply sheets I used as shelves in my garage:

if they cant cut for you probably a cut off saw(circular saw), along with some nice straight wood to use as guides and 2-3 clamps.
Standard ryobi circular saw and a kreg guide worked for me, will try find the guide link and update ;)

Edit, added link:

I've got the rip-cut and accu-cut guides
I used a circular saw and a aluminium straightedge, and clamps.
Straightedge and clamps can end up costing as much as the saw sadly...

Thanks guys, happy spending 3-5k - Ideally on something which could serve more than one purpose - will look at the circular saw with track guides.

I find myself often having the need to cut straght or square cuts doing home projects, and my hand saw with mitrebox, or jigsaw just don't get it 100%.

My wife now wants to buy a boxed shelving for the kids playroom - and the first set costs R3.5k - I'm pretty sure I could make it for under a R1k with the right saw.

Let the hardware shop cut for your

The only one in the area is Builders Warehouse, in the 10 years I've been here, and requested cutting - they've been operational twice.

Been putting this off for ages, and it finally happened, kid emptied fridge dispenser on the floor - what is the best way to try and stop this from happening?

I was thinking of just using clear silicone around the bottoms. (going to have to try and make this look a little better before hand first :( )

Agreed , if there is a lock , leave it on for a week or two, the kids learn it doesnt work and then freedom. Worked well for me
