I'd have to check but pretty sure it's not that common? Maybe it's a Gauteng thing to not have them?

I must say, in comparison to the monumental horseshyte that most people try and rent out in DBN, its a bloody palace.![]()
Well I say granny flat but it's more a bachelor pad, so it's not big. Really just a tandem garage converted.I must say, in comparison to the monumental horseshyte that most people try and rent out in DBN, its a bloody palace.![]()

Enough for a double bed, couch and tv. This is the view from the other end.
That door on the left goes into our braai room.

Yeah, I put two skylights in. Definitely over invested in this little flat but I want it to be nice for if parents need a place as they get older.Stunning little flatlet @SAguy! Looks really good, and are those skylights in the ceiling?
Quick Q for those who might know, our neighbours are absolute tits when it comes to taking care of their animals and we are forever having to collect their dogs from the street and take them back to their homes. We've done this probably seven or eight times since we moved in in March.
We have a sliding gate that we have meshed up, but it seems like their dogs keep on antagonising ours by trying to bite ours near the bottom of the gate where there is a small gap for the wheels to run along.
I'm thinking of buying some 50mm aluminium profile and installing it along the length of the gate, sommer just with some self-drilling screws. Is there another easier solution or is my idea sound? I first thought of buying some of those weather strips that you get for doors, but alu profile would work out cheaper.
Can recommend an installer but, you'd have to crimp the network cable yourself.. he is not familiar with that.. crimping is easy peasy though..Any recommendations for someone who can fit a new gate motor for me? I have the new D5 smart to be fitted.
Need the installer to be comfortable with Cat6 crimping as I need cameras and intercom connected at the same time.
Edit: In CPT
You are a good sonYeah, I put two skylights in. Definitely over invested in this little flat but I want it to be nice for if parents need a place as they get older.
I like the idea of aluminium profile, I have the same problem with opposite neighbours dogs. Those lazy fscks couldn't be arsed about anyone.
I have gates with shade cloth weaved through it. Opposite neighbours dog bit a hole in the shade cloth and fought through the fence, biting my dogs nose.
Waiting on one place to get back to me, they seem to do data cables and everything. I can do the crimping but looking for a one stop shop for a change, I give myself too much work. Can recommend an installer but, you'd have to crimp the network cable yourself.. he is not familiar with that.. crimping is easy peasy though..
I don't understand how people so easily let their dogs out. I can understand an accident, but some couldn't be bothered. In 3 years of having our ridgeback she hasn't once slipped out.You are a good son
Yes, it's not even one particular one. The house diagonally opposite us has an old Jack Russell that keeps on getting loose. Their next-door neighbours have a labrador and a worsie that escapes from time to time. And their neighbour has a pitbull and a ridgeback that also roams around from time to time. And our street has a blind rise and a sharp bend in as well, so it's only a matter of time until one of them gets hit by a car.
With the rabies outbreak in PE, we are a little worried so we would rather take some extra precautions to keep our pups safe. I'm going to check if I can get some profile tomorrow and make a plan. Sounds like you also have some trouble with brakke your side - is your dog OK?
