Cape Town beaches look absolutely stunning, almost like a photoshop.. Until you realize why the magnificent photos only have one or two people in the water and hundreds sitting on the sand.

Very much so... all so pretty but the water makes them useless :P unless you suit up in a bloody dry suit almost.

Go to Eden on the Bay any weekend and you will see more people in the water than on the beach.
Muizenberg is also packed with surfers and body boarders most weekends.

SUCCESS!!!!!

guy came out for visual inspection on Monday afternoon and yesterday got written quote

shocked to hear that they could already start tomorrow, but then was told the supplier didn't have stock of the 1 brick for border, so will only be next week Thursday

so let's see how this turns out as it has our hopes up quite a bit in the way the guy presented the work

so here we start holding our thumbs again for round 2 :D

Is a brick bolster the right tool to use to remove a few tiles? (No chisel function on my oldskool hilti :( )

Grinder with a diamond blade, cut the grout around the tile you want to remove, just don't go so deep you cut into the wall/tile adhesive or you will have some filling to do..

Then cut corner to corner to corner on the tiles you want to remove and hammer away..

That is what I would do..

OK, the scope has just exploded... Looks like I might need to hire that chipper after all. Thanks wifey.

Shotto for the recommendations.

How are these All in One Paints ? Are they worth it ? How do they perform. This is for Vibacrete Slabs mostly. I want to use this as a Primer & undercoat before I put on the colour coat.IMG_3100.jpg

Bit of advice/guidance needed.
One of the garage beams on the open side has rusted badly and is starting to bow in the middle, so I need to find someone that can replace the beam - looks like a C beam to me. There is a metal gutter running between the back of the beam and the wall, so that will also need replacing.
All the other beams are fine and are straight/not rusted.

Is this something a carport place could fix/replace, as it seems to be more of an enclosed carport roof rather than a normal garage roof - any recommendations for the Douglasdale area?
