Dude... You can literally phone Kaytek and buy a length of pipe from them (6m, so same length as Builders/Chamberlains)... they aren't only for industrial scale customers :)

I did my soak away pits with the Kaytek Infiltrators. Phoned them, ordered 4 and went to collect with my bakkie and installed myself.
I also did a french drain behind my kitchen wall with the GeoPipe and a length of the fabric which I bought from them as well.
What are their prices like if I may ask?

We're busy fixing up our new property and this is obviously an eye sore. It's the older type cornice that's made out of 'gips' but I see the stuff you get at builders are all some type of polystyrene. I'm wondering if it's not worth ripping out most of this old stuff and just replacing it with polystyrene, especially in the rooms where there are cracks etc...thoughts?

We renovated one of our rooms and did this exactly. The newer polystyrene stuff was a breeze to install too, and looked decent.

Question: Got a quote for building a 3x4m pool. They dig a hole, build the pool with bricks, re-enforcing, cement and then marbelite. 1m paving around + pump etc. 1.8m deep with seating around. R52K.
Expensive or basic rate ?

I would get another quote for a fibre glass pool already made and then installed.

Recommendations for a chlorinator for a 50Kl pool?
I have a Zodiac but recently someone advised to rather stay away as all their stuff is imported. They also don't seem to have a physical presence in Cape Town anymore (not sure where you are). The advise I got was to look at local brands, but unfortunately I can't remember the name of the brand now.

Since my Zodiac stopped working about a month ago I have just switched over to manually add the chlorine - seems a mission to get the Zodiac fixed.

You don't have the Zodiac Clearwater C100 by any chance?

Nope, had the C100 or C110 (something like that) until a few years ago, but replaced it with the EI Classic when I relined the pool 2017 which is a self cleaning one - the current switches every time it turns out. Worked really well until recently...

Went through two of those, now I think the cell needs to be replaced which is basically just metal grid but costs a nice R1000,00.

Where you getting it for that price? Seems cheap to me

If you can rip it all down and replace with the polystyrene version then I'd say go for it.

Its a boat load easier to install, and from what I remember cheaper as well.

Having trouble finding the site now.

Mypool is the second cheapest, all the others are around R3000.

Mypool

Just looking at it no idea why it is so expensive.
Titanium and rithidium or something like that is used in the cells.. Titanium isn't the cheapest metal around..

Any recommendations for a plumber in Northern Suburbs of Cape Town? Geyser burst on Friday and after it got fixed I got handed a list of non compliance problems.

I will get one.
Also get a quote for a fiberglass lined pool instead of marbleite- same process as marbleite except they do a fiberglass and resin lining. For reference, my 9x4 pool was redone at a cost of R38k with new features and modifications to the original plus a whole new piping system, filter and electrical. Excluding the pump. Originally I was getting quotes north of R60k. If you’re in Cape Town, give 2ocean pools a call
