Grind down one end of the post, reattach the plastic bit and then put a small bolt through it and put a washer and a nyloc nut at the end.

Then you basically use the existing post as a sheath to prevent chafing and the bolt, washer and nut are doing the holding work for you.

I had to laugh at 'thicker than cement'

If you can't straighten the posts, you could either use a normal bolt and grind down the threads or find an appropriately sized bolt that only has threads on the end but a smooth shaft. Usually you'll find these at car scrapyards and the like.

So our new thicker than cement domestic, who couldn't use her brains or her memory (because i showed it to her beforehand) force closed all clothes horses and bent them (I've had them for 15 years and she fcked them up in 1 day ).

As a result, I have broken clothes horses , a newly unemployed worker (she has not been listening and doing her own thing and this was the final straw) and a new problem to solve.

That little metal pin needs to be inside blue glider thing. Her actions managed to pull it out, bent the pins (including the poles). I can straighten the poles but I can't get these pins back in (or straighten them)

I was thinking to cut them off, and then use a bolt with some big washers to achieve the same. Only concern is that the thread of the bolt could chew into the plastic glider as it's opened and closed .

Any other solutions , or what the name/type of pin this is ? Feels like a rivet but it's not as they are not tightened to the poles.

Thx in advance View attachment 1232054 View attachment 1232056 View attachment 1232058

I don’t have an answer but what brand is it? Have found most of them are terrible quality and needed to be worked on the moment they had weight on them.

They are rivets, even though they are not tight.. you can use a bolt with a nylock nut and just grind down the threads on the bolt where the bolt would be going through the plastic sheath..

Thanks. Very cool tips, Gonna make a plan this weekend.

Hence my anger. I bought these while living in the UK (brand: Minky) and nothing sold in South Africa, in all the years I have been back in SA, come close to how well these are designed. One clothes horse can hold nearly a full load of washing and clothes don't touch each other so everything dries better. I think she must have jumped on them to try to close it. These are rock solid. No sagging or anything (until now ) - They still hold a full load but sagging to one side - hence I want to repair them.
buy new ones or make lines outside
Can't get them in South Africa and while I have lines outside , we use these when it's raining outside or if we do a washload at night and hence will not be put on the line outside.

Looking for the best way to stop a tear in my pool solar blanket (the bubble cover). What type of tape will stick to the plastic cover and will be water and weather proof (gets really hot in the sun)?

I think they 'weld it' when joining with a strip, will be your best bet if you can get someone who has access to the tool/material. Might be worth finding out if there is a manufacturer near you who could assist?

Sounds like a well point based on the depth and two pipes.. depending on the water table, it can dry up during summer..

But there is nothing broken..? Water dries up when it's hot.. pray for rain..?

Pay the big bucks to have a borehole drilled to 20+ meters and hope you strike water..?

but yeah its weird areas not too far away is perfectly fine

Hi all .Need some advice. Need to get a roof erected over entertainment area. About 6m*10m with IBR and polycarb. First half is between two buildings and second half will need support on one side. The other side is supported by building.
The intention is to close the open sides at a later point in time. The existing visible roof structure on support buildings is obviously wood.

Questions
Should I go with wood to blend or metal for durability? Not much difference in quotes( R55K w vs R63K m)
Price guestimate? Can I get it done much cheaper?
What should I look out for in quotes?
Type/ style/.thickness of IBR
