As we have a nice downpour again and I stare at my gutters becoming over full due the volume of water I'm left to wonder if it is even worth replacing them?

The one area I'd need to do something is around the back of the house, there just isn't enough of an overhang where the roof protrudes over the wall.

Anyone have a view on extending this? Is it possible to put another row of tiles?

Pic would be helpful..

that must have taken you 600 years to paint that roof if you used a brush, all those little edges etc. Did you spray it or use a brush?

If I was him I would have used a brush just to stay up there as long as possible away from my wife and kids and enjoy some beers on my own.
Ex-wife, she not here no more. Thank fsck.
My guy used a 140mm brush to paint. Was quick. The prep work takes the longest. Sticking all the bitumen tape and doing the waterproofing took ages.

But your prep work needs be 100% otherwise you can just as well leave it.

Hi all .Need some advice. Need to get a roof erected over entertainment area. About 6m*10m with IBR and polycarb. First half is between two buildings and second half will need support on one side. The other side is supported by building.
The intention is to close the open sides at a later point in time. The existing visible roof structure on support buildings is obviously wood.

Questions
Should I go with wood to blend or metal for durability? Not much difference in quotes( R55K w vs R63K m)
Price guestimate? Can I get it done much cheaper?
What should I look out for in quotes?
Type/ style/.thickness of IBR

Make sure screws are in the hills not the valleys.

So i have this chromadek roof that was built after i bought the place. The roof is 5 years old and you can see in what condition it is.
I replaced all the tek screws and bonded washers. Washed the roof with a pressure washer. Stuck some bitumen tape over all the tek screw heads. Did some waterproofing with membrane and Flash Harry liquid plastic. Then painted the roof with Dulux roof guard. 3 Coats.
The roof was originally dark dolphin in color but faded severely.

This is an impressive result, almost looks like it’s concealed fix with the smoothing out of the screws. Was it leaking before you had to do the maintenance?

Anyone keen on 2 free sheds, condition as in the pics, not sure if I should be posting elsewhere on the forum?

In Midrand Jhb, obviously for your collection.

Any recommendations for automated sectional garage doors (supply+fit), Cape Town (Southern Suburbs)?

Another question, we have two separate doors (as below), can I get away with installing one double door or stick with the 2 singles?

You have a pillar there in the middle how are you going to install a double door? Go for two single doors unless I'm missing something.

Unless you know for sure that there's a reinforced beam running across, rather assume that the pillar is load bearing and leave it there...

We were considering making the two openings one but after looking at it, best if we just stick to the two

Another reason is with a double wooden garage door it always sags after a while, I see you have roller doors but for every one else I would go for fibreglass instead of wood. Those roller doors' automation is not that difficult, have a look at the installation manual to get an idea of what is involved but not a fan of those type of doors that you have.

Yeah looked into automating those doors but they were installed like sh*t, no space for to motors on the side of them and they have seen better days.

So would like to replace them with aluzinc sectional doors
