Maybe to fit a geyser in the roof. Is it a flat ish roof?Went to look at a place and both bathrooms have slightly lower ceilings than the rest of the house. Any idea why it would have been built like this? The only thing I can think of is it having something to do with the extractor fans, but surely you wouldn't need a lower ceiling for this?
One possibility is water damaged ceilings with the new ceiling being built underneath what remains of the old ceiling..Went to look at a place and both bathrooms have slightly lower ceilings than the rest of the house. So anyone know where you could physically buy those microwave oven glass turntable plates? Anywhere around JHB/ Durban/ Cape Town (I'm in those 3 cities fairly often).
I see a few places online and I know the plate size, just worried about that section in the middle where you typically have those 3 protrusions that keep the plate in place - want to make sure it fits OK and hard to tell from online pics.
Was cleaning ours and the dang thing broke.

Because i don't want to replace all the tiles. Don't feel like the moerse mess it's going to be.Why would you want to put laminate floor in the kitchen..???
We don't even use the stupid thing that much; but it's one of these built in microwave/ oven/ I don't know what else type jobs and it just bugs me that the plate is missing so want to get a new one. We've got a separate microwave that we use.
*Edit - I'm not too far away from browsing like a Makro store, and one of these plates on display goes missing...

Laminate is pressed wood.. a kitchen is a moisture ridden place.. pressed wood and moisture don't mix..Because i don't want to replace all the tiles. Don't feel like the moerse mess it's going to be.
Any other suggestions ?
I don't drop my scotch on the floor. The existing floor is good - i think. Reason for re-tiling or something is ONE broken tile and 2-3 cracked ones. Obviously don't get the same tiles anymore and there's fokol spare in the roof.Laminate is pressed wood.. a kitchen is a moisture ridden place.. pressed wood and moisture don't mix..
The first time you drop your brannes and coke onto the kitchen floor and it seeps between the gaps, it's done for..
If the existing tiles are in good shape, not cracked, loose, or pushing up or moving etc, you can just tile over them with your new tiles.. but again, make sure the existing floor is not for kak..
