If you can't get it off you also get an insert with an epoxy type putty that you glue to the inside of that outlet. Then you can attach the skimmer to that.
Thanks.. I got my big-ass pliers out and used it to inscrew it.

Those of you with vinyl and laminate installations, how did the contractor/you stagger the planks? On a lot of pictures that installers put up on their pages I'm seeing staircase patterns, but according to my research this is not a good way to do it - it should be a random pattern.

I'm wondering if people requested that pattern or if they generally just do it that way.

I'm definitely going to make sure they stagger it randomly for my installation.

This is ours, bit difficult to see, but you get the idea. Can't really see the joins/staggering tbh
And after a few weeks, it was not noticeable once we got used to the laminate.

Did this solve your issue? I have the same problem due to a stupid dog that pulled the leaf catcher out and broke the outlet.
Unfortunately not. Still kept popping out.
Getting the pool guys in during Jan to refit the threaded outlet, as some moron fiberglassed over the flush portion of the outlet, so can't remove it myself without damaging the shell...beyond my extensive home DIY capabilities!

They said they can lower the pool level, store the water in a bladder, remove/refit the outlet part properly and repair the fibre shell if needed to ensure no leakage at the outlet, then refill the pool from the bladder - awaiting their quote..

You get a putty as well that I used with the insert. You mix the 2 parts and it goes onto the rough section and you push it into the outlet. The putty sets underwater and glues it in place. Worked well for an outlet that was broken by a pool skimmer as well. When you really need to replace the outlet you can follow the procedure above.

Alcolin AquaMend works well.

Hi all

Closed up a window and bricked it up with single wall. After rain yesterday, water is seeping through. It is single face brick on the side.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks

And done. Finally don’t have to walk across the house to shower. The guys are pretty professional all things considered. Actually thinking of investing in the business.
It really looks great.
Only those tiles will make my OCD do summersaults every time I go into that area

Where does the extractor fan vent to? Just into the roof cavity or do you duct it outside?

Looks very very nice. Just a question. Why is there taps on the bath and theres a mixer for the bath?

Yeah, so for costs we reused the bath that was in the main bathroom instead of replacing, but essentially we cancelled the taps and use the mixer on the wall. The plan was to block out the holes for the old water supper on the bath(taps). However we agreed that a new bath is required at some point since this bath, is almost out of rack on design for the new bathroom (sharpish edges make it more modern than classic aesthetic).

Ah, my other gripe, so currently goes ceiling close but through the foil to the edge of the metal roof without a vent. Still planning on a system that will vent up the chimney, but that’s around 10m away vs the typical supplied plumbing of 2m odd, so needs to be addressed stat, we didn’t anticipate the lower shower height leading in less steam build up hopefully.

True true, tiler did his best o match up as many as possible, but when we were looking at designs, we realised even real marble is tough to get right at 1200x600 since you’d basically be asking for a massive single slab cut up.

Even saw some designers going for alternating directions to create impact which I utterly hated. In the end we landed with some continuous lines, but breaking up regularly.

More than the lines I had a major victory in advocating for non gloss tile, but Matt all the way through. I felt this gives it more timeless appeal, as I feel gloss ages very poorly, and can feel tacky quite quickly.

This was a tricky space with a single tiny 900x600 (not so tiny, but the space makes it feel small) window. It’s open planish deliberately with the wall that holds the vanity as a lower than ceiling height drywall divider between the bedroom. This was so as to allow for as much light as possible.

Pics of view past lower than ceiling height divider please.

Sounds great.
