Grinds my gears when electricians (and plumbers) charge you a pretty penny and then do **** like that. The glands are under R2 each but they cheap out and do the bare minimum.

This is why I try do as much wiring as I can myself (within the limitations of my knowledge), and get an electrician to finish the job - most of us would do a better job specifically because we're being extra cautious. In my previous house that had CoC, there were twin earth cables just running in the ceiling without being tacked down - and the inspection boxes had no glands on, just gaping holes in the sides.

Completely agreed. It really gets my goat that someone like me with virtually no knowledge can do a neater (and safer) wiring job than the two qualified electricians I've used to date. And if anyone wants to accuse me of possibly having shitty taste in electricians - I wholeheartedly agree.

These look so nice and neat, been looking to see if I can get it here anywhere - Amazon doesn't ship them sadly. Anyone seen it locally?

Found that due to being stuck at home and not spending 3 hours a day getting to work and back I actually have some time to do other stuff.

Projects completed thus far:
- Managed to get 100m of network cable from a security shop so I've redone a large portion of my home network and installed some new points around the house
- Mowed the lawn :p
- Cleaned the pool and found a solution to the creepy getting stuck at the same place over and over

Next up:
- Replacing 6 of my existing cctv cameras with HD cameras that I bought on a whim while at said security shop
- Hanging a fek ton of pictures around the house I've been promising to do for ages

Will check them out thanks - haven't used them before myself.

They really only work with solid core cable (so things like surfix and such)... but I found them very useful and much easier than normal chocolate bar and shyte like that.

The wago's are so slick as you can reuse them by flipping the lever. Very handy when you an amateur and you making kok ups constantly

For sure :)

But pricey once you are doing stuff that you won't be changing any time soon...
