That's exactly what I want to do though, only doing the front - dogs are at the back.

Also busy with camera's.
Ah okay that makes more sense, you could just put up your fence first, of the neighbour hasn't already.

Okay so before and after the bathroom renovation, still a few more things to go. But the ancient blue tiles are gone. The window needs to sorted out as well.FB_IMG_1572510315113.jpegFB_IMG_1572510309310.jpeg

Thanks, yeah the window is the next thing as it's horrible. But need to build a bit of budget again.

So a bit of a conundrum, the pool coping was removed yesterday, and the new one started getting installed.

In some sections, the glass mosaic tiles at the top broke off when old coping was removed. Don't know how that is going to get repaired? Thinking we just put marblelite or grout and when I need to remarbelite in a few years, worry about it then? Other ideas.

When the new coping was installed , wet cement has been falling into pool which is now cloudy :( saw this when I got home last night .

Angry but don't really know how I am going clean that - guess vacuum to waste. As a precaution have turned off pool pump and also ensured that I blocked access to solar heating on roof. How does one get cement and small building rubble out of a pool?

Saw on YouTube, that one should sweep to deep-end and then vacuum / use leaf rake to get stuff out. My deep end is 2.2m. :( Thinking maybe to sweep to shallow end and then take out heavy stuff by hand and then vacuum others. Hoping water is not permanently ruined. Can't afford to put 120k litres of water again.

Tips appreciated. IMG_20191030_060035.jpegIMG_20191031_053910.jpeg

its to be expected to be honest, and don't worry too much it will come right.pretty quickly, let it settle, if it doesnt want to get some floc, then vacuum it out your water wont be ruined.

I had builders here doing a small extension and i got so much k@k in the pool, chips of concrete, chips of bricks, building sand the lot, let it settle for a day, then ran it for 1 day and it was clear again.

how long and wide is that pool? doesnt look like 120kl, looks more like 60-80 tops

whats the plan? brick it up mostly and put in a much smaller window?
Not really sure, first thing is to get new glass, paint the frame see how it looks. Bricking up is going to take the bathroom out of action for another week :-(

If it's 2.2 at the deep end it could be 120kl. Mine is only 1.7 at the deep end and it's 50kl.

Nah, surely that can be done in a day or two. At least all the brickwork/framing/plastering.

It's the breaking out as well, and the amount of dust that gives is immense.

Why are you bricking it up? Won't it make the bathroom dark?

Rather leave existing size and modernize it. Replace the glass and install more modern burglar bars.

You could even put an aluminium patio door there, if you're worried about security keep it locked. You'll need burglar bars anyway.

Can't put a door there :) it's about 5 foot drop on the other side.
I'm thinking of just modernising it.

Progress...

I thought you were gonna keep the existing structure
No, stripping it all, the sides of the thatch were to do far down so you ended up knocking your head or back coming in front the front yard. The incline was also a bit steep letting very little light in.

Going for a flatter structure with skylights to make it more open and welcoming.

11m * 6m (at widest point)

Thanks for the tips. They finished coping around pool today so it will have a chance to settle tomorrow and on Saturday I will clean it.
