I would say R120 per sqm (excluding tiles and adhesive) would be a good figure for stripping and laying new.
Yes just labour. Ok sounds good.
I'm waiting for someone from ctm-installations to come give me a quote.
Their contractors should be decent since ctm puts their name at risk
Well thats my logic anyway

Are you in Johannesburg? I could forward the guy who did mine.

Anyone done home extensions in CPT with a reputable builder?

The CTM guys will probably be expensive and be much closer to the R200 per sqm.

Its not out of the world at R200 per sqm, but then you can be a monumentally pedantic mofo about it in terms of time it takes, joints etc etc etc...

Haha true

Talk about expensive. I bought a set of filters for my Jojo tanks

Bought from a local supplier for about R3400. 00 which I thought was excessive.

However yesterdays visit to brights Boston proved otherwise.

The same set of filters going for R8999. 00.
fark me

Holy hell..

Do these make the water potable and completely safe for drinking, cooking etc and what is the lifespan for a set..?

Not sure. Will need to have the water anylised.

I've added a UV light as well.

I have a water from Air machine that provides pure water for drinking.

You spent R3400 on a filter and you are not sure what its capabilities are?

I need to build a basic box to protect my pool filter and piping surrounding it from sun - what would the best materials be?

Not easily, the pipes go straight into concrete / paving... it'd be easier to just make up a box.

Thinking of just using marine ply and beams - weather treated.

That could work yeah, as long as the wood is weather treated properly.

Would that box itself not work if modified to fit? (as in cutting out a side so that it rests on the wall/support beam on the wall)

I am all for DIY solutions, but sometimes its cheaper to take an existing solution and modify it to suit than build from scratch.
