Yeah, nothing worse than bringing washing in only for it all to smell like smoke... one of those things though, nothing you can do about it. At the start of lockdown I was braaing every day almost, poor downwind neighbours probably hated me.

Closed combustion is far more efficient that open fireplace.
However , Why are you not considering cast iron ?

A year later , still feel the same? Quality of grass , still good? Do you still wash it once a week with the Dettol solution. If no animals, is it necessary?

Thinking of installing a specific corner of garden near a play gym that has no sun and uneven ground

Worried that hededa poo is going to destroy it.

Ps, any tips on how to keep birds and hadedas from landing in garden (beside dog) and then literally shitting all over the place.

Yip, the grass still looks good - no signs of wear or damage anywhere. I don't spray it down too often, maybe twice a month and it hasn't damaged anything.

I was worried the front wouldn't last with my 35kg dog still zooming like a puppy, doing handbrake turns and popping wheelies - but the grass still looks as good as it did on day 1.

The grass guys do come out and do "service" on your grass though... clean it and redo the fine sand that they brush into the grass to lift the tufts up. I don't need to have it done though.
I have an area that gets absolutely no sun in winter, always in the shade. The concrete next to the grass is green with mould and moss, and the grass isn't affected at all by the damp.
 
Anyone got any ideas how to fix this issue?

Toilet cistern, otherwise fine, but every now and then sounds like its pomping its ex wife on an old bed!
Squeek.squeek.squeek...

A slight push on it to make the cistern slightly fuller normally fixes it, for a bit... Not leaking into the bowl, just seems like it gets caught right on the edge and some change in pressure puts it on the edge so it start, stops, start stops...

Can happen any time, pipes arent otherwise vibrating or anything, just this cistern!?
 
So how long does it take to transfer a municipal account into your name ?

you don't.

the old one is closed and a new one is opened. it takes a few minutes, you go there with your ID and the letter from lawyers that the transfer has happened and pay your deposit.

there is a small rubber diaphragm in there, open it up, clean it and it should be good.

yeah you need to do what i mentioned, i understand that the offices were closed, but so were transfers anyway because the deeds offices were closed. offices are open now - go there.

Jip. Going to face that que ... What pi$$es me off is that i've send the lady who does this kak all the necessary docs, MAIN doc being the Windeed.
 
Next question. Pre-paid electricity meters. Any specific type or brand ?
