I'm in the process of installing some CCTV cams, I see they have an earth connection.. can I just ran an earth spike in to the ground next to the house somewhere and run a cable into the roof to earth the CCTV cams..?

Edit: should probably add, they are powered over PoE so, technically are earthed that way..?
POE does not have an earth conductor, however you do not need to earth the camera.

Ball Park, estimated cost to redo 2 existing bathrooms from bare walls all the way to a completely modern look?

Are you moving any plumbing..? If not, depending on the size and if you are tiling walls and floor, you could hit 60k per bathroom easy, for middle of the range sanware and tiles, excl bath and toilet, assuming it includes a shower..

No, plumbing remains mostly as is. Everything else will be new though, bath and shower in each bathroom

That's such a open ended question, anything from 15k to 60k, lots of factors

So for more detail, both existing bathrooms are fully tiled with the normal fittings. Bathroom 1 has a single shower and bath with double basin. Bathroom 2 has a double shower and basin. Very little size difference between the 2.

Idea is to strip both back to bare walls and redo.

Bathroom 1 to retain single shower, existing free standing bath to be built in, double basin and toilet replaced with a geberit in wall unit.

Bathroom 2 to retain double shower, have a free standing bath added, single basin and in wall geberit toilet.

Showers would be frameless.

Both bathrooms tiled from floor to ceiling.

I think you should go get pricing on what tiles you want and also the main fixtures, from there we can probably estimate the labour. For example a bath can cost R800, or it can cost R15000

Just found it odd that the cameras have an earth connection..
That is strange, analogue cameras go nuts if they are earthed as usually the negative is common to the housing and the AV out shield return.
If these are IP cameras, is it not perhaps for lightning protection?
Do they work properly without it?

I would middle of the road ctm fixtures will see you hitting 30k per bathroom including low end ctm tiles for a relatively standard sized bathroom...

The one I have installed is doing fine so far, for the last month or so.. it may very well be for lightning protection.. lucky down here we don't get very much if that at all so I will just run them without earth and see what happens..

What's the advisable way to extend a copper pipe protruding from a tiled wall?

I have to replace the taps in my one bathroom, but the copper pipes coming from the wall cavity will be too short for the new taps to connect them up.

Do I buy a copper coupler and some pipe and solder on a piece until I have the length I need, or should I shorten it nearly flush against the wall and fit a flexi hose to it instead?

I cut the copper nearly flush and then used that copper "glue" to add flexi hose connectors.

Way easier than faffing around trying to extend the copper.

So, one member said their Frameless shower was 12k, pic he posted looks like a double..

I saw a Hans grohe wall hung pan and in wall cistern totalling 4k, with the in wall cistern being on promotion.. the flush plate was another 1k..

Right there you are at 17k and need tiles, bath, mixers/taps basins vanities and labour..

Hi Guys.

I noticed the valve outside is leaking. Seems to drip on and off. Do I need to replace this unit or can it be repaired. Wanted to get your guys view before I have the plumber out and he makes me pay for unnecessary stuff.

Arrow pointing to where its dripping from.

Thanks
On this one, remove the blue plastic cap. Rotate the knurled black plastic knob underneath it quite a few times to flush the valve and get all the muck out. It might need quite a few turns, and pauses between turns. If it continues to leak, then replace it.

For a tiny en suite bathroom (like 2.5m2) just the fittings and tiles, excluding all labour is costing us R25k. Only thing that's perhaps slightly above average is the concealed cistern toilet.
