@SAGuy. Recommend this too. Since it was your architect that recommended the builder , I don't trust your architect either.
 
I'll get the hang of this monstrous pool soon enough. It is 10m in length and 6.5m wide at the widest point.

Seriously considering making it smaller during the winter. And perhaps make it square as well. Covers and nets are a mission with this kidney shape.

But for now the new stuff did the trick and it looks great. And as mentioned the water also feels "softer".

Kids (and us) are loving the pool and it will have to give me endless grieve to make me decide to close it up.

Just wait until you get quotes on doing the smaller/square idea. Just get the covers and the nets for your kidney shape it'll be cheaper and less hassle.

Oh yeah that I can believe. We have a few clients who do pools for a living and I've seen/heard what they charge to do these type of things.

When I had a solid PVC cover on my pool of similar size as yours, it cost 16k , 3 years ago. The cover is great , but not suitable for large pools as ours with funny shapes. Was an absolute torture to remove. And the length made the poles sink into the pool.

Last year I finally had enough and called some other companies to find out about other nets. The guy that saw my pool immediately told me that DPS plastics had done my cover. When I said how he knew, he said they were the only company that would install a solid PVC cover over such a large wierd shaped pool and they are not suitable for them.

Anyway, finally dumped the thing and installed a leaf net cover in the last month, which is so much better and now that wild oak tree finally lost the battle. I can now manage the cover by myself , whereas with the solid PVC cover, we needed three people minimum

We have a smaller 6 x 3m kidney shaped pool.. was here when we moved in. I hate it so much, we have the solid cover with the poles.

It takes up so much space and it's a mission to open/close.

We may be replacing it with a small 2 x 4m chill pool soon. Tired of this dumb thing

Mine is a simliliar size, 5.5 x 3.5m - I've tied a rope in them middle of the pole on the one end, and pull it across from the middle of the other-side... and then the reverse to install - takes about 2min.

I like this idea, must try get something similar on mine as well - how do you get the poles to not lag on one end when you pull the rope?

Anyone got the Jet-Air aircons installed? The ones with Wifi? Any thoughts / experiences on these? They do come out cheaper than the Samsung / LG etc but they are locally made
 
I had the 9000btu unit installed in November in my home office. Been running it from 8 to 5 everyday without issues. Don't really use the wifi functionality as I am at home. But it can be useful if you work at the office and want to switch it on before getting home.

We have a Jet Air J-Smart (WiFi enabled) 12 000 BTU inverter unit installed in October last year, it's been working faultlessly since then. The inverter makes a huge difference to our monthly electricity bill when compared to a non-inverter unit.
Our installer preferred Jet-Air over Samsung / LG due to the price and availability of spare parts.

Generally, pulling it straight - and slightly up - and it seems to work fine without issue.

They are good little things to have.. I would probably look at something a bit more substantial than that in terms of the protection it can offer... but the basic idea is sound.
 
I just want to confirm, only a properly registered/licensed plumber may work on plumbing correct?
