Wtf, how do you get that wrong

Fok, does that mean the floor is not level?
I don't even know how you fck up everything so badly. Since this is a concealed cistern toilet they'll now need to chop the toilet cistern out the wall. This will be the second time they chop it out, the first time I made them chop it out was because it was angled to the side - now they've fixed that and made the whole thing skew.

I don't know hey...

The saddest thing is it's pointless suing

Exactly, the guy is broke.

So I have two options:
1. Let him fix what he can, where he can
2. Cut my losses and find probably another R100k to fix everything he's messed up.
If R100k would fix it I'd be tempted to go that route.

Kinda weird how every builder is always broke, but at the same time over charges for the quality of work.

Ai guys... I don't know anymore hey. Hundreds of thousands of rand and the issue list just keeps growing.
I'm going to write a full review with the builders details soon...

I sat down on the one new toilet today, first time using it and it felt a bit odd. I thought maybe the seat was on wrong. Grabbed my level and....

k2k funny. Probably cause im in the same situation. Contractors got paid 300k to renovate and fix this house we are in now. Majority of that money went on painting the house. They used the wrong paint in the bathrooms, i have never seen mildew shoot spores, but now i have.

Toilets are fcked, sinks are fcked, there are leaking pipes inside the walls, inside the roof, light fixtures are hanging out of the ceiling. My son lost 4 teeth cause of the sht workmanship on the concrete that cracked in 2 weeks and he tripped and fell.

I am literally busy breaking open walls and chopping out concrete floors to fix everything myself, because apparently todays builders are damn useless and scum.

You guys are making me k@k nervous with these horror stories, we're planning to do kitchen and bathroom renovations in May this year :c

Kalahari - besides the couple of stitching points, it was fine.

I'll try another - I suspect this one had already been returned, probably for the same reason. It arrived in a torn taped together box.

New one arrived, its about 30cm longer than the previous ... rather annoying, because now I need to move fittings.

At least it's evenly uneven, back and front.

But seriously, that sucks, I'm sorry.

Looking for some advise, I need to replace a few exterior doors.

Any recommendations on where to buy and get them fitted as well?

Also they are a really dark colour, haven't seen anything like this in the usual stores (builders/leroy merlin)...is this as simple as just varnishing to the matching colour?

I bought a 6 panel untreated wooden door from Brights Hardware here in the Cape for R1099, they are currently on special, it is the cheapest I could find. I had it fitted as my outside door in the kitchen. The treated doors started at around R1700. Remember to add a set of handles, lock and some hinges. You can look at about R250 for that.

Yes, to get the dark colour is just some dark varnish/sealer.

Wrt hanging the door, most handymen can do it for you. Cost me R500. But get some quotes.

Thanks for that, I had a client about 2 weeks ago complain that my price was high when I charged her R2850 to supply and fit a solid door.
“How can it cost that much just to hang a door. Probably takes you a hour. You’re F-ing insane”

Hanging the door is easy, the hard part is aligning and cutting out the slot for the locking mechanism and door handles etc. Not a simple job.

Most suppliers online don't have quotes to provide the door and fit....haven't a clue where to look to find somebody to fit a door if I buy online.

Drop me your details please, if you service JHB.

Yeah dude, people don't know what things cost, and they just think it is an easy job, just a few screws and you are done, which it certainly is not. R2850 is quite reasonable to supply and fit.

Totally agree, and in my case the frame was a bit skew so the side of the door had to be planed a bit to make it fit. It is not as easy as going to shop and it just fits.
