Depending on the requirements you may need a structural engineer tooHi all,
I want to start an extension
About 12m2
What would be a reason price for plans to be drawn, and submitted for approval.

Just never say to the architect: "let your creativity run wild". That's code for 'I have a money tree with a never ending supply of money'.Anywhere from R5k to something that destroys your soul, it all depends on what you're wanting to do.
Yip, one guy came and quoted 20k.Anywhere from R5k to something that destroys your soul, it all depends on what you're wanting to do.
Shave it with a minora blade..Okay silly question, I filled a crack with contractors acyrlic like a year ago, but it seems the crack contracted and quite a bit of the acrylic is sticking out, can it be sanded?

500 for pulling existing
2500 for drawing existing
12500 for the planning and drawing
5000 for counsil submission.
To be honest, extending the dinning room by 3metersx 4 meters.
Remove 2 interior walls, non-load bearing.
(Between kitchen and dining)
I was thinking between 5-10k with submission and approval.
What about a structural engineer? What is his cost?
Seems like thier cost is more then the actual work.

I'm doing a huge change when you look at it. structural not much.+1 Following.
We want to do some renovations this year but I am afraid of the plans costs. We got some qoutes for the building already from a friend builder.
Well that did workShave it with a minora blade..
I need to free some in my garage as the cycles, bikes, garden equipment, tolls and all
Leftover tiles and paint drove me crazy.
I am thinking of a Wendy to move some stuff to. My reading of the regulations is that a 3x3 will not require plans. My best place to put it is on an unused driveway so will be visible from the street. How bad an idea is this from a safety perspective? I can’t put an alarm eye in if that will help ! From an aesthetic perspective I’m in 2 minds about it as well.
Any ideas on safety improvement of a different solution than a wooden Wendy?
What you are looking for is something called a run-on timer. They are usually units that can be set from 1 - 30 minutes to run after switched off, but finding a fan with that built-in would be the ideal solution, sort of the mechanism that an outside PIR security light uses.I have a bathroom extractor fan I want to fit, but a few things I'm considering.
My extractor fan that I bought doesn't have any sort of timer in it, only L/N... no extra switched L or anything.
- I want it to go on with the lightswitch
- I want it to stay on for a few minutes after the light has been turned off
- Need to do all of the above to code
So I'm thinking my best bet is to use a Sonoff Mini or a Shelly. Have the Sonoff/Shelly permanently powered, with switched L also coming in. Then see if I can somehow set it to only turn off say 5 minutes after the light switch has been turned off.
Unless there are purpose built little units to do this? I don't need a Shelly/Sonoff - I just need something to do the timing.
Worst case I just let it go off when the light is switched off
