I got a quoted R6.8k for a 5.8X5m PVC cover.Gauteng.

I think the laws are municipality specific, where they add additional requirements to the SANS 10400 rules.

The way I read the SANS 10400 regulations, if your pool is in your property and your property is fully fenced then your pool is compliant. Its all about public access to the pool and limiting that access.

Yeah I got a gardener in still, as I do have lawn that needs to be maintained and turns out the guy is a pretty good painter and for minor maintenance. But yeah other then that I've tried to make the garden as little maintenance as well . Cut down old dying palm trees, attempting to get the council to cut the dying pines down.

Maybe you were braaing and a little coal got picked up by the wind and the open canister of lighter fluid you left on the wall next to the tree got knocked over by the wind all over the litchi tree and the flying coal set the lighter fluid a light and the tree went up in flames..

If you can find a root on your side of the yard you can also just drill a few holes in it and add some roundup - not that I'd want to kill a fruit tree

100% agree! The problem comes when you want to sell and buyer spots and it wants it sorted.

Also liability should an accident happen. Eg neighbours kid jumps over the wall and drowns.

According to SANS 10134:

A below-ground swimming pool (i.e. a pool where the level of the coping corresponds approximately
to the level of the adjoining surface, and includes where the coping is stepped to accommodate water
features or built structures) should be provided with either an enclosure or safety cover or safety net
to restrict access to the swimming pool by unauthorized children or persons

but I see most articles say that you need both a fence and a pool cover. Maybe I'm missing that on the doc?

Looking for recommendations in CT (Edgemead) for reputable companies for:

If the neighbours kid jumps the wall he can jump a generally short pool fence, likewise the area he jumps over might be within the fenced area? its retarded, you cannot be held responsible for negligent actions of others. I would love to see a successful case outcome where someone had this happen and proceeded to take action on the pool owner.

I know of several succesful house sales concluding with no poolnet or fence in the last say 3 years.
