Any idea where to get just a 40mm sink tailpeice? I dont feel like spending a fortune on a 10-20cm peice of plastic pipe :/
I was doing some strange things with PVC a while back and got some 40mm pipe and fittings from Plumblink IIRC, perhaps go for a scratch at one of those places and you might find something that will work.

As some may know, I have an above ground pool..

It's in the back corner of my property and I can't be arsed to try and get grass growing in between the pool and the boundary walls and the associated maintenance thereof, which would be a headache, considering its about a meter and half space at most..

Going to dump some drainage rocks instead, just to keep the sand covered and avoid it from blowing about.. however, they are rather sharp so don't want them to be up against and almost under the pool edges:

Amy ideas as to making a ledge or lip of some sorts up against the pool, maybe between the legs, to prevent the drainage chips from contacting the pool..? I have some bricks laying about and currently thinking of using this as the ledge, just want some other bright ideas as well..
Ended up going with the bricks..

Thanks man it will be one of my stops tomorrow morning, im highly suprised this isn't more available here, it is such a standard type of thing in america for example, we have a lot of similar type franke etc designs for pre-made kitchen plumbing fittings here so its weird you can't just find this peice loose.

Where is a good place to get some Kikuyu plug or sod I need to fill 50m2.I see quite a lot on FB marketplace but don't know the quality of it. Has anyone bought from those people and what was the quality like ? I don't want to fight with weeds. But also have a small budget to work with.

Was weed free and ok quality. Took about two weeks and a bit of work to get the growth right and for it to settle. Nothing died.

Don't pay more than R15 per block.

What area are you based in ? Do you have the company or persons details that did it for you perhaps?

So most houses I have seen in SA have the sinks running into a gulley drain, i.e they arent physically tied into the sewer system directly. While i get a gulley drain can give off odors it generally doesn't when clean and working correctly, and even then the sink drain pipe is usually like 10cm off the grate itself.

So why do we use P traps in South Africa? Prevent bugs or something coming up into the sink from outside?

The sink I have been struggling with that has this low profile trap on it is seriously temping me to pipe it without a trap

Bugs and smells..

While you may not smell the odor from outside, it does waft up into the pipe still..

I have bigass old Armitage Shanks toilet and the cistern lid has cracked. I managed to score a 2nd hand replacement but it's 70's yellow. Can I use the below to Re-Enamel spray it back to white?

I don't see why you couldn't.... It might not last forever, and you'd have to redo it every so often.

The other alternative would be to have it re-enameled by a company that does it, but as I found out, they only guarantee it for 5 years. Tho that was for a bathtub. I can't see why it wouldn't last forever on your cistern

Cool.. it only needs to last a few years anyway as a bathroom remodel is in the future.

@Steamy Tom I'm in the randburg/fourways area.
