it is like you say essentially a sticker embedded into the fibre glass and sealed over.

For my marblelite pool, the same guys who did the work last week, applied new mosaic over the existing broken ones and cleaned it all up when we did renovation a few years back. They used whatever pool cement they used and had done my pool up in one day. Was super chuffed and still looking good today.
 
ok, so we are for the most part happy so far with our paving job

1 or 2 things though:

- I noticed they didn't put down any of that felt stuff that would prevent grass from coming through. was that supposed to be a must? (the area was a grass area that they removed)

- I see that the "grout" between the bricks looks more like just river sand than a mixture. now in quite a few spots, because of the heavy rain the last 3 days, the 'grout' has been washed away.
can I do a re-fill job but use more of a cement mix than sand? would also like the 'gray' better than the current brown from the sand.

You get the stick on vinyl and also real tiles. The stick on vinyl is usually the option included in the pool package, whereas tiles are an optional extra and usually requires a tiler to apply. For the stick on stuff, it’s usually applied just before the gel coat

The weed mat is not a must or an inclusive item.. you would have had to specifically ask for this, if installer did not ask whether you wanted to install it.. would also have been extra cost..

Sucks that the installer didn't ask you about it though..
 
Hi all

how easy is it to change poolsand I have Superflo 120 , a 3 bag filter ,the interwebs dsnt say I should select closed tje multi filter neither say my poolpump is below I height as the pool ,hence water siphon from the pool and gulps of water from the actual filter. Question is there an outlet tap ,secondly I have a pool extractor.

I would honestly try and help but only after you recheck that entire post. Not being a grammer nazi but unable to understand what you are saying except for the "hi all" part.

apologies was typed in a hurry, let me try

need to change pool sand, I have a superflo 3 bag filter ,my poolpump is below the pool in height. hence when I select close at the filter option water still syphon thru and if I open the filter bag water seeps thru lots of it.

Ok cool. No, its not difficult to change the sand, its just a sht job. Get a plastic bowl, open the screws on the top and start taking sand out but be careful because to not break or bend the plastic upright parts thats inside. I cant remember what its called but you will see what mean when you start.

If theres water seeping through to the filter then it means your filter is too low but you can add a non return valve on that pipe which will stop it.

Not to sound rude but I dont understand the reference to the close position of the valve. Do you want to change the sand whilst the valve is on close? The pump needs to be off when changing the sand.

I'm Jhb south ,Linmeyer ,I was referring to the multi point valve where one select closed or backwash .I have a sand filter extractor .

Open the top, suck all the sand out, put new sand in, clean casket, cover plater, bolt holes. Fill the filter with water and replace cover. Put the pump on rinse and switch on until water coming out is clear and then onto filter. Listen for air leaks and tighten the screws where needed.

Drink beer.
 
Fill the filter halfway with water before starting to refill the sand and refill the first bag back slowly and carefully. Just dumping it in might break some of the filter fingers at the bottom of the filter.

Evening , some feedback I can confirm all went well with the change of poolsand.
I followed the instructions to a tee and it went really quick, with the sand extractor.

I need to replace the white opaque plastic roof sheets on my patio, years of sun and cats running on them has turned them brittle.

Any advice on what sheets to use and who to install them in CT?

If you don't mind replacing them again in a few years, replace it with the same plastic ones.. else, you are looking at the metal ones, which obviously won't let any light through..

Can't recommend anyone for the job though..
 
Oh wise ones, I seek thee wisdom..

While I wait for my plans to be approved for my car port, I want to put up a shade net, the ones from Kalahari/coolaroo..

I have two anchor points against the garage/house, however, I have nothing to anchor against on the other end..

I don't want to dig holes and concrete posts, as this will be done for the car port and I don't want to have random concrete patches with no purpose.. just to keep the driveway as tidy as possible..

Any ideas..? Been trying to look for a bracket of sorts I can anchor to the driveway with some proper plugs/Rawl bolts and attach the poles to that, but not come across anything yet..
