Making steady progress.

Floor tiling should be done by tomorrow. Just waiting for the screed to dry on the underfloor heating.

Both kitchen windows will also be replaced and expecting them to be delivered tomorrow. The window on the far right in this pic will be half the current size and in line with the window over the sink. Counter tops also going to be delivered tomorrow and kitchen cupboards on Monday.

Underfloor heating is rated at 3kw but I checked the inverter and it's running at 2.7kw when the heating is switched on.

Day 4 update.

Underfloor heating in the lounge installed and working. Still need to buy an external temperature probe to go under the tiles otherwise it will just use the room temperature and not the tile temperature. Current room temperature is 26° at 20:30.

Doorway closed up and kitchen floor tiling nearly done.

Going to start smoothing out the popcorn walls tomorrow and finish most of the floor tiling. Need to still buy a new back door as I want a stable door.

I have the same one… man was it a pain getting it installed: it doesn’t come with a wallbox and I couldn’t find one anywhere. Ended up having to do a cut and glue job to get it right.

I got me this box from AC-DC and just going to surface mount it on the wall.

Did you end up getting the sensor probe for under the tiles or are you using it with the room temperature?

What size area do you have covered and how is it working out? I don't think mine would go on until the middle of winter if I stick to the default settings.

Ambient temp in the room was 4 to 5° Warner than what it was outside.

How much does it heat up the room or is it just the tiles that are a bit warm.

Mine is 24m2. It heats the tiles well which actually makes the room quite toasty

Day 5 update.

Its been a long week but decent progress for the first week. Tiler is only going to be back again on Tuesday or Wednesday. Monday is some electrical and wall prep work.

Kitchen floor is slightly higher than the lounge but the tiler worked it really well to get it not to show the dip from the kitchen to the lounge while also not using too much tile cement over the underfloor heating.

Broke out the bottom section of the window in the kitchen to do the brickwork.

Not sure if you can see in the pics but there is a room behind the fireplace that used to be the garage. It's got a small section for a kitchen and a bathroom. I'm turning this into my honey room after this renovation is complete.

I've moved most of the stuff into that section and using it as our kitchen area. Large appliances like fridge and lounge suite is under the carport outside.

I can't do any bee work until this is all done so no extraction or making creams and lip balms. I do have enough product to sell so it's not a train smash.

Bedrooms and other 2 bathrooms are not affected. We are eating outside at the moment with the camping table.

Bees are actually fine and not bothering any of the workers. I have two hives under the carport and is 2m away from where they mix up the tile cement and I've not had a single worker stung by a bee. The entrances are however facing in the opposite direction to where they are working.

I've never had any internal temperature monitoring. It's interesting and gives some insight.

I have double glazed windows and the doors were mostly closed during the day and only the bedroom aircon running which would not impact the temperature in the lounge where this reading comes from.

It's definitely cooler inside during the day but I'm not sure why the temperature would start to increase just as the outside temperature is decreasing.

Not sure if it's enough to draw a correlation tbh. Living room temp seems to fluctuate through the day whereas outside temp seems to match the time of day.

For example between 07:00 - 09:00 outside increases but so does the living room, same with the decrease between 10:00 - 15:00...

I do have 2 air purifiers, one in my daughters room and another in my sons bedroom which is next to our bedroom and that does measure temperature, humidity and air quality but does not show a graph. It's always been 1 degree lower than the the thermostat for the underfloor heating.

Internal temp seems to not drop too much and even with the nighttime temp dropping to 14, the internal temp didn't go below 21 which is the point at which the underfloor heating would switch on.

Now to see what it does in winter.

Air purifiers also working overtime to keep the dust out of the kids room. We do keep their room doors close during the day.

Building work to resume tomorrow with electrical lines being put in for all the new plug points in the kitchen and lounge. Wall prep also taking place tomorrow.

Don't have enough funds to completely redo the ceiling boards but will be touching them up with new paint and new cornice.
