Yip. That star screw - Turned it clockwise and something loosened up. Some fcker before me stripped some of the screws - not sure how i'll get them loose.
Drill big enough hole into the top, pull chain through and hook up to your bakkie. Speed away

drill them out? or just cut the pins off using a hacksaw blad then you can remove the cam afterwards with more access.

Great idea. I won't use these fasteners on the new tops. Just plain L brackets.
Dunno what the old people did on kitchen tops that they needed them to be earthquake proof.

Try a flat part of rubber band between the screw head and the Philips screwdriver, works like a tricky-dicky for some stripped screw heads

Morning. SO i got the first top off. Used the hacksaw idea @Steamy Tom

Top fits under the tiles. So obvious cupboards were installed and tiles after.

And as you can see the back hardboard is higher than the cupboard sides, so these okes did this:

They cut a groove in the top so the hardboard fits inside.

Just pics of the pin and locking device. Another fckup - it locks both ways, so they locked some clockwise, others anti.

I just love all the experts here. Todays quiz:

Old top is 35mm, new tops 32mm. That yellow squiggle will be a 3 mm gap. Close with silicone or is there some sort of back plate, thingamagik that can be sticked over ? Was thinking like an aluminum quarter round or something ?

Is it doable to lower a ground floor stepped shower to be level with the floor?

Why not just shim the underside of the top, between cupboard, so it's level with the bottom of the tile?

That's an option...... which would save me to try and take out that back hardboard (You can see it's higher than the sides, so i'll have to cut it down).
So what shimms ? Cut wood strips, glue to the sides ?

Don't know if you have a gelmar in your backwards town there, but they sell wood shims..
