I appreciate that in all likelihood Winter would have been best to do this, but I hadn’t expected what looks like a 1m bump in the tree.

What would a wood smith gardening service change for something like this ?

Look only thing I could add is, at our old complex trimming trees was a big deal. Like you had to consider birds nesting there and what not and someone posted rules around when it could happen. So I think in theory you'd need to wait till winter.
But perhaps your complex isn't as anal about animals as our old place was. Man if you had a snake that moved into your bed and you dared chase it out with a stick you'd have 5 folk on WhatsApp reprimanding you about how you should have re-homed it something.

I'd say they go full brightness about for 30 - 40 seconds.

If there is more motion it stays on longer.
Its enough to get your attention that there is movement.
Even cats set them off if they go past.
 
Hot water pressure, what's involved..?

For context, I have a ariston 150l geyser, model unknown until I bother to check it on the roof..

Kitchen mixer barely has any hot water pressure, with our cold water pressure being just fine.. kitchen mixer is the furthest away from the geyser..

How do I get pressure..?

do other hot taps fed from the same geyser have decent pressure? The distance shouldn't really make that much difference unless its a huge distance.
If other hot taps have decent pressure I would look at the tap and its lines itself. Can switch them over and can also reverse flush them if the issue is in the tap

Pressure dropped to all hot water taps, it only drastically affects the kitchen mixer though.. it only became an issue after a burst pipe at some point, though that may just be coincidence and the issue is related to something else..

Have you cleaned out the tap strainers? They usually get filled with sand/stone after repairs, drastically reducing flow

Do you have those small inline taps, usually inside the cabinet or just before connecting pipes to the mixer tap?

I have, and my kid at one point played with them, causing some random issues on the mixers.

maybe climb in the roof and have a look at the hot water shut off valve, it may be partially closed by the plumber?

do your cold water taps have good strong pressure?

Definitely ain't that, everything wide open..
To add, there's been zero plumbing work of any kind since the issue started..
 
I'm thinking you've got some sort of blockage in your hot water pipe line. Since it's effecting all your hot water taps then the blockage must be right up by the geyser. I'm not a plumber but that would make sense to me. A leak would also cause a decrease in pressure, but then you would know about it.

Any idea what the plumber did or which pipes he worked on?

When did this decrease in pressure first become noticeable?

Well first thing to check if it is plumb correctly. Correct way is water goes from meter to geyser first, if you look on the geyser installation page it's the balanced outlet, this cold water line goes to the rest of the house. What this does is it creates equal pressure on both cold and hot lines also when somebody opens a cold water tap you don't lose hot water. If your house is not like that you need to bring a line from your furthest hot water tap back to the geyser to create a circle which will equalize the pressure on the hot line.

Do you have a latco valve or similar, to regulate pressure to the geyser? They have a fine filter that could be blocked.
 
Got quite a few home renovations planned for the next 12 months.

Short term
- Update house plans.
- Replace old sliding doors with new stacking doors
- Replace megamaster braai with "brick" braai
- Install roof turbine on garage roof to aid cooling in garage where solar system is

In the next 12 months
- Build scullery area onto house
- Renovate kitchen

Gonna be a busy year ahead
 
Took a solid beating tonight with the massive hailstorm in Midrand…

Seems almost every valley in the house got overwhelmed with the sheer extent of small hail’s then massive hail and rain that came down, because we had leaks galore on the second floor.

From the morning we will naturally have all trap doors and exterior doors open but need to find a way to dehydrate the roof to ceiling - it’s chromadek which I just got painted so need to see any damage it’s done to that.

But is there a place where I can hire an industrial widget that can help dry it all out? Especially since there’s insulation because it sort of feels like the perfect breeding ground for danger spores…
 
What is the rough estimated going rate for laying foundation for ~40 sqm rectangle?

Like R400.00 per square or what
