Perhaps "Serving Board" is a better option. Cutting on stone is a great way to f**k up your knives.
 
2 weeks may be wishing
We did our kitchen ( which may be a bit bigger )
Stripped everything out , relevelled floor , floor and wall tiling and then kitchen cupboards etc on top . Took about 4 weeks all in all

It's worth being optimistic, if you say 2 weeks then it'll be 4 weeks but if you say 4 weeks then it'll be 8 weeks right? :laugh:

I am still betting on my two weeks(not including time for the stone kitchen tops, just my estimate of having a functional kitchen again)..

Lunchtime now and all the wall and floor tiles have been stripped already..

The only unknown we discovered, is that we need to now do a cement slurry over the floor, to seal what looks to be a porous top coat the old tiles were added to..

Further to that, probably 3 hours worth of chasing for some new plug points and then tiling can start.. 600*600 floor tiles, so they would fill the space quickly.. wall tiles are also of a larger size..
 
Drain is in and connected to main drain outside. This has been a BEAST of a job.

Also whilst plumber is plumbing that the builder is painting the exterior of the house.

Building inspector out Wednesday to sign off on drain

Not sure if I have posted in here before, I am busy with various small little projects around the house, currently roof insulation as the only insulation in the roof when we bought the house was a layer of dust. So, from this, 1.2m wide, 145mm thick and I think 6m long Isotherm...

A crap job to do, partly because I have OCD and partly becuase whomever built the house made the space between roof trusses 1.2m in some places, 800mm in other places, in addition to the ****ing wiring and piping laid down by the blind electrician and plumber. I have done our bedroom and the boys bedrooms, busy with the communal passage, main bathroom and boys bathroom before moving on to the guest bedroom and bathroom, office and boys playroom. Also looking at geyser blankets for two of the geysers along with piping insulation for the hot water pipes...

How much is a roll of isotherm I also want to do this one day heard it makes a huge differnece

It depends on the size you need, we have a steel roof and roof trusses are typically 1.2m apart so ordered the 145mm x 5m x 1.2m rolls which were R503/roll excl. VAT. My inlaws have a tiled roof so ordered the 145mm x 5m x 0.75m rolls which are R650/2 rolls excl. VAT. All from brits nonwoven in Kempton Park if you are in Jhb but they delivered to my house and then my FIL organised transport to their house on the Hartebeespoort dam.

And yes, it makes a huge difference, both our sons rooms which are admittedly medium sized so not huge, are a lot warmer and easier to heat and keep warm.
