The Home Improvements Thread (3)

Halfway there - we used another sealer (white mily liquid) before which basically left the deck looking like it's still ready for a camphor cream ad. This time around different type & will do 3 coats.

Had a belt sander before which melted itself so now using a Ryobi "vibra sander" takes longer but still works well. Will do the Jacuzzi as well while it's still not connected

My neighbour has wood decking around his pool. It needs way more maintenance than my paving...

I actually was all for removing the lot - I suspect underneath there's pave stones like the rest which we can paint as we've done with the others... Alas - head office said no.

Who is the boss in the house, pants or skirt?:ROFL:
I do most of the finances (albeit she does the actual spreadsheets, cos i couldnt be arsed to open new book 1) - She is head of aesthetician affairs...

This is still a stop gap matter though since we are looking at a whole backyard redesign moving retaining walls and leveling out the space

And we no longer have a kitchen.. paper plates, foam cups and plastic cutlery for the next two weeks...

All the best! By my basic calculations extension and kitchen should be done early Aug.

We can suffer through this together!

You should hire a floor sander from a tool hiring place. You need a Makita if you want to do that with a belt sander.

Tip: Remember to tune the contractor if there are any off-cuts he must cut them to your preferred size and finish the edges. Stick some rubber "feet" on the bottom in each corner and you have yourself a nice "cutting board" or pot stand.
